HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 10-A RESOLUTION NO. 10-A WHEREAS, California cities, towns and sanitary districts are being faced with problems of disposing of their sewage and industrial wastes under peculiar seasonal and climatic conditions which compli- cate the problems or make them unique, thus rendering inapplicable or of doubtful value methods and standards developed elsewhere, and WHEREAS, these pressing problems are of vital concern to all communities, large and small, and their separate investigations would involve, in some cases, prohibitive expense and in many cases'waste- ful duplication of money and effort, and WHEREAS, the State is the logical agency to undertake the solu- tion of common problems, particularly those affecting the health of its citizens, now, therefore, it is hereby RESOLVED by the Council of the Oity of Tustin that the action of the League of California Municipalities, at its last meet- ing, requesting the appropriation by the State of not less than $63,000 for the establishment and maintenance during the next biennium of the proper and necessary facilities for investigations and research in methods of sewage and wastes disposal and treat- ment, be and the same is hereby endorsed and approved and this council does hereby respectfully urge the legislature of the State of California to adopt suitable legislation to accomplish these · purposes: RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the members of the legislature from the district in which this city (or town) is situated, are hereby requested to lend special effort to the furtherance of the purposes herein expressed and the adoption of the necessary legislation to accomplish the same. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to transmit certified copies of this resolution to the Hon. C. C, Young, Governor of the State of California; to Nels Edwards, our representative at the legislature, and to the League of California municipalities at 706 Chancery Building, San Francisco, California. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and. regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Tustin at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of January 1929 by the following vote, to wit.
