A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, CREATING THE OFFICES OF POLICE
CHIEF AND CITY MARHALL, AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF SUCH
CHIEF OF POLICE AND CITY MARSHALL, AND APPOINTING JOHN STANTON,
AS CHIEF OF POLICE AND CITY MARSHALL, DURING THE PLEASURE OF
THE COUNCL.

WHEREAS, the City of Tustin requires, the services of a
Chief of Police and City ~arshall, to perform for the City of
Tustin the duties and services customarily and usually per-
formed by such an officer, and whereas, ~'ohn Stanton, has ap-
plied for the offices of Chief of Police and the City Marshall,
and appears to this Doard to be qualified for said position,
no therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED:
That the said John Stanton, be, and he is hereby appointed
to the office of Chief of Police and the office of City Marshal,
of the City of Tustin, during the pleasure of the Oouncil.
The amount of compensation paid by the said City to the
Chief of ~olice and City Marshal, will be, until further notice,
$150.00 per month; 'and that in cases of emergency or necessity,
the said Ohief of £olice and City Marshall, is hereby empowered,
subject to the consent and approval of the ~ayor and the Folice
Commissioner in each instance, to hire additional patrolmen, at
a salary not to exceed $10.00 per day.
Said Chief of Folice and City Marshall, to assume the dut-
ies of said offices immediately upon the passing of this' reso-
lution.
This resolution shall take efCect immediately, in as much
as the said .City is in present need of the services of such of-
ficers.
Passed, approved and adopted, this 5th day of December,
1927.

Board of Trustees of the City of Tustin is five; az~d that the
foregoing resolution'being resolution No. ~ ~, was 'duly passed,
approved and adopted by said Board, approved and sign~.~d by the
Mayor and attested by the City Clerk all at a rego_lar meeting
of the said Board held on the ~th day of December, 1927, and
that the same was p~ssed and adopted by the following vote, to-
wit:
AYES: Councilmen- Huntley, Schwendeman, Logan, and Kiser.
