HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK SUBJECT: APPLICANTS FOR COMMISSION/COMMITTEE VACANCIES SUMMARY: Staff is requesting the City Council set the date and time to conduct interviews to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee. RECOMMENDATION: Pleasure of the City Council. BACKGROUND: Vacancies on the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee will become available on March 1,2002 due to term expirations. Information was made available to the public through advertisements in the Tustin News, the City's website, and on the City's posting board, that the City Council was seeking candidates interested in serving on the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Audit Committee. The following individuals have expressed interest and their applications are attached for City Council review: PLANNING COMMISSION - Two (2) vacancies for 2-year terms expiring on March 1, 2004: Cheyl Bell, Linda Jennings, David Mello, Nathan Menard, Cole Othmer, Leslie Pontious, and Sherry Reece. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION - Three (3) vacancies for 2-year terms expiring on March 1, 2004: Allen Amundson, Kenneth Eckman, G~nny Hovland, Adrian Morton, and Elwyn "Al" Murray Applicants for Commission/Committee Vacancies Page 2 AUDIT COMMITTEE - Two (2) vacancies for 4-year terms expiring on March 1, 2006: R. The final step in the selection process would be completion of ballots by the City Council at a future Council meeting.
