HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PARKS AND RECREATION SERVICES FRONTIER PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT RESOLUTION NO. 02-25; ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE NOTICE OF COMPLETION SUMMARY: The Frontier Park Play Equipment Replacement is complete and the project is ready for acceptance and filing of the Notice of Completion. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 02-25, accepting said work as complete, authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion and direct the City Clerk to: 1. Release the Labor and Materials Bond no sooner than thirty-five days after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, and 2. Release the Faithful Performance Bond no sooner than one year after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion. FISCAL IMPACT: The final cost of the construction contract for the Frontier Park Play Equipment Replacement including change orders was $62,291. The renovation was funded through an appropriation of Community Development Block Grant and Park Development funds. BACKGROUND & SUMMARY: The scope of work included demolition and removal of play equipment and replacement with new play apparatus. The project was substantially complete as of February 15, 2002. The City is retaining $5,784 that will be disbursed no sooner than thirty-five days a~j~ recor~dat~n of the Notice of Completion. Director, Parks andq~e'creation Services Project Manager NOTICE OF COMPLETION PLAY EQUIPMENT 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 9 ]0 11 ]2 13 14 15 16 17 18 ]9 20 2] 22 23 24 25 RESOLUTION NO. 02-25 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR FRONTIER PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Casron Services Company, having a contract with the City of Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public works and improvements; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the construction and completion of said public improvements hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public work and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contractor authorized in accordance with the contract documents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin that said public work and improvement be accepted, and the same is hereby accepted. Said public work and improvement is more particularly described as follows: FRONTIER PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of March, 2002.
