RESOLUTION NO. 92-149
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING APPLICATION
FOR THE UNINHABITED ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY
KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 154 (18562 17TH
STREET
Whereas, the City Council of the City of' Tu£;tJn on its
own motion has initiated preliminary proceeding for the
annexation of certain uninhabited territory; and
Whereas the City of Tustin Water Division has a water
well located at 18602 17th Street, adjacent to the
subject property, and intends to expand the e>'isting
water facility in conjunction with the Orange County
Water District to construct a water desalinization
facility on both parcels ]n order to bette]~ serve the
customers; and
Whereas, ]n order to simplify and streamline the design
and permitting process, it would be of s]gn]f]cant
benefit for both 18602 and 18582 37th Street to be
located within the same jurisdiction; and
Whereas, the City Council has determined that the
proposed annexation ]s an individual parcel of land
proposed for minor new construction and therefore
qualifies as a Categorical Exemption (Cla?~s i9) from the
requiremen'cs of the Ca] J fornia Environmental. Quality Act.

The proposed annexation is made for the purpose of
increasing the economy and efficiency of government
services.
The application £or annexation is submitted by the
City Council of the City of Tustin.
The Local Agency Formation Commission is hereby
requested to undertake annexation proceedings
pursuant to Part 3, Section 546837 of the Cortese-
Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin
City Council, held on the 7th day of December, 1992.
