SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR NEW RIDING LAWNMOWER
SUMMARY
Award of bid for the purchase of one riding lawnmower to Bob Hicks Turf Equipment in the
amount of $17,653.65.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council award the bid for the purchase of one riding lawnmower
to Bob Hicks Turf Equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $18,000.00 were made available in the mid-year budget for the purchase
of the riding lawnmower.
BACKGROUND
Ten sealed bid proposals were received and publicly opened on June 19, 2001 and resulted in
Bob Hicks Turf Equipment being the lowest bidder. On July 16, 2001 City Council approved the
purchase of a new riding lawnmower from Bob Hicks Turf Equipment. As part of the bid
specifications the bidders were required to guarantee their submitted price for the purchase of a
second riding lawnmower within the following 12 month period. Therefore, the Field Services
Division is recommending that the City exercise their option to purchase the second mower from
Bob Hicks Turf Equipment.
