SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR .THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/FINANCE
RECONFIGURATION (CIP 10032)
SUMMARY
Plans and specifications for the Information Technology (IT) and Finance Reconfiguration (CIP
10032) have been prepared and the project is ready to be bid.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the City Council adopt Resolution No. 10-72 approving plans and specifications
for the IT/Finance Reconfiguration (CIP 10032) and authorize the City Clerk to advertise to receive
bids.
FISCAL IMPACT
The engineer's estimate for the work to be performed is $248,000. Sufficient funds have been
budgeted and appropriated in this Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Capital Improvement Program for this
project.
DISCUSSION
Staff and facilities for the Information Technology Division (IT) are presently at multiple locations in
Civic Center which inhibits the efficient management of staff and information systems. The
Finance Department currently includes some IT and City Clerk functions and the work space
requires consolidation and reconfiguration. This project will include the relocation of all IT function
to the second floor of the Civic Center and the reconfiguration of the vacated Finance Department
work spaces.
The tentative schedule for construction of the project is as follows:

RESOLUTION NO. 10-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
IT/FINANCE RECONFIGURATION
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California
to contract for the construction of the IT/Finance Reconfiguration (CIP No. 10032); and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the
construction of said work; and
WHEREAS, this project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act; Class 1, Section 15301: Facilities Replacement;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications
presented by the City Engineer are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for:
IT/Finance Reconfiguration
(CIP No. 10032)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for
the performance of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin held on the 6th day of July, 2010.
