A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN DETERMINING THAT
THE LOCATION, PURPOSE, AND EXTENT OF THE
PROPOSED VACATION OF "OLD" DEL AMO
AVENUE BETWEEN "NEW" NEWPORT AVENUE
AND "NEW" DEL AMO AVENUE CONFORMS WITH
THE TUSTIN GENERAL PLAN
The Planning Commission does hereby resolve as follows:
The Planning Commission finds and determines as follows:
A. That the City of Tustin proposes the vacation of "Old" Del Amo Avenue
between "New" Newport Avenue and "New" Del Amo Avenue within the
City of Tustin as a result of the reconfiguration of the SR-55 ramp and
realignment of Del Amo Avenue.
B. That as a result of the newly constructed improvements, the "old" Del Amo
Avenue is no longer necessary and needs to be vacated and eventually
conveyed to adjacent property owner.
C. That currently "Old" Del Amo Avenue is a roadway easement dedicated to
the City of Tustin and owned by Catellus/ProLogis. Catellus/ProLogis
ownership will be quitclaimed to the City.
D. That Section 65402 (a) of Government Code provides that no real
property shall be vacated until the location, purpose, and extent of the
project has been reported upon by the local planning agency as to the
conformity with the applicable, adopted general plan.
E. That the City's General Plan envisions the Newport Avenue Extension/SR-
55 ramp reconfiguration and realignment of Del Amo Avenue as shown on
the Land Use Map.
F. That the vacation of "Old" Del Amo Avenue would further the Land Use
Element Goal 11 which is to provide for the integrated business park
environment in the Pacific Center East area and create cohesive land
uses within the Pacific Center Specific Plan area.
G. That the general plan conformity determinations required by Government
Code Section 65402 (a) are not "projects" requiring environmental review
pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act.
