AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TUSTIN CITY
CODE TO PROVIDE FOR PARKING FOR HANDICAPPED
PERSONS.
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, ordai~
as follows:
1. That the Tustin City Code is hereby amended by the
addition thereto of subsection "h" to Section 5332 to read as
follows:
h. Parking for PhTsically Handicapped Persons
No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle on any
street or portion of a street established by resolution
as an area restricted exclusively for use by vehicles
of physically handicapped persons as defined in
Section 22511.5 as that section now provides or may
hereafter provide and which vehicles display either one
of the distinguishing license plates or distinguishing
placard issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles pur-
suant to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code
as it now provides or may hereafter provide, when such
area is designated by appropriate signs and/or by blue
pal. ng upon the curbed surface adjacent thereto, unless
such vehicle is entitled to display and is displaying
the license plate or placard described above.
2. The Tustin City Code is hereby amended by the addi-
tion thereof of subsection "i" to Section 5332 to read as
follows:
i. No person shall stop, stand, or park a
vehicle in any parking stall or parking area on City-
owned or operated parking facilities if that stall or
area has been designated by resolution as restricted
for the exclusive use of vehicles of physically handi-
capped persons as defined in Section 22511 of the
California Vehicle Code as it now provides or may here-
after provide, which vehicles display either one of the
distinguishing license plates or distinguishing placards
issued to such persons pursuant to California Vehicle
Code, provided that the parking stall or area is indicated
by posting immediately adjacent thereto a sign consisting
of a profile view of a wheelchair with occupant in white o
a blue background and/or by blue paint upon the curb
surface immediately adjacent thereto, unless such vehicle
is entitled to display and is displaying the license plate
or placard described above.
3. The Tustin City Code is hereby amended by the

in any off-street parking ar. ea, public or private, which has
~ been designated by resolution as restricted for the
exclusive use of vehicles of physically handicapped
4 persons as defined in Section 22511 of the California
Vehicle Code as it now provides or may hereafter provide
5 which vehicles display either one of the distinguishing
license plates or distinguishing placards issued to such
6 persons pursuant to California Vehicle Code, provided
that the parking stall or area is indicated by posting
7 immediately adjacent thereto a sign consisting of a
profile view of a wheelchair with occupant in white on
8 a blue background and/or by blue paint upon the curb
surface immediately adjacent thereto, unless such
9 vehicle is entitled to display and is displaying the
license plate or placard described above. The City
10 will only designate such areas on privately owned property
upon the written request and consent of the property
11 owner and upon installation and maintenance of the
required designations at the cost and expense of the
~2 property owner.
