APPROVAL OF MI N UTE S PUBLIC [{EARINGS MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING TUSTIN PLANNING COMMISSION JULY 28, 1969 The meeting was called to o~'der at'7:32 P. M., by ~hairman Pro-tom Oster· Led by Commissioner Mahoney. Present: Commissioners: Mr. Curtis, Mr. Oster, Mr. Larnardv Mr. Webster, Mr. Mahoney. Absent: Commissioners: Mrs. Ludwig, Mr. Halus. Others Present: Mr. Harry E. Gill, City Administrator Mr. James G. Rourke, City Attorney Mr. Rex Waldo, Building Official Mr. James L. Supinger, Planning Director Mrs. Jo Ann Turner, Rla'nning Secretary It was moved by Mr. Mahon~y, seconded bX Mr. Webster, that the minutes p~ July 14, 1969, be app~0v~' as submitted. ~ar~ed unanimously. t 1. PZ-69-118 - SO~RVILLE-CONZELMAN COMPANY - (Continued from July 14, 1969 meeting.) For prezoning of a 5.11 acre'parcel to the R-3 (1800) Multiple Family Residential - 1800 sq. ft. of lot area per dwelling unit District. Location: Site ~r6Ets approximately 665 ft. on the south- east side of Utt Drive and 335 ft. on the northeast side of Mitchell Avenue. ~..S~pinger stated that this is the second time that this application has been continued and Mr. Sommerville, applicant, submitted another letter asking for continuance due to his not being able to attend this meeting. Mr. Oster stated that if there were people in the audience that ~shed to be heard on this matter, their statements would be recognized. Mr. Bob McClure, 14121 Utt Drive, Tustin, representing the ~esi~ents in ~he area, stated that he would like to redirect the Commission's attention to the June 4, 1969 letter that was submitted, giving their reasons for opposition. He stated that he was agreeable to a continuance of subject application and that'he had. slides.that he would like to show to the Com- mission if they f~lt it was appropriate at this time. Mr. Mahoney asked if it would cause an undue hardship for Mr. McClure to return to the next hearing date scheduled and present his slides. Mr. McClure answered "No." Mr. Rourke' stated that if the Planning Commission made a de- cision on the property this evening, it wou].d still come into the City with R-4 zoning, because the annexation wou].d be fini:;hed before thc request on subject property would be effective. Mr. Nebster stated that th6re was no indication in Mr. Sommerville's letter as to when he wanted it continued 'to and felt that a full quorum should be present when · Mr. Mclure makes his presentation of the ~lides. He felt that it was unfair to the people that are interested, to have to keep attending each meeting just to hear that there will be another continuance. It was mp~ed by Mr. Webster, seconded by Mr. Maho~ey, that ~Z-6~-118 be continued 'to the August 25, 1969 meeting and at that time, if the item'~ not. heard, that it be deleted from the calendar. Voted by roll call. Ayes: M~hOney, Larnard, Oster, Curtis, Webster.. Noes: None. Absent: Ludwig, Halus. Motion carried 5-0. UP-69-302 - SANTIAGO ASSOCIATES ON BEHALF OF LARWIN SQUARE (ContinUed from July 14, 1969 meeting.) Location: Newport Avenue', First Street and Centennial Way ~H Street) Larwin Square Shopping Center. Due to lack of a quorum, with two members absent and Messrs.: Oster and Curtis abstaining, the item was continued to the A~gust 11, 1969 meeting. NONE 1. PARCEL MAP (PM-69-25) - GEORGE ARGYROS Location: North side of Irvine Blvd,'150 ft. west of Yorba Street. To divide parcel for purposes ~f lease and development. Mr. Orville Myers, city Engineer, submitted a report stating ~hat annexation to the City was completed July 17, 1969 and that this property was the subject of prezoning (PZ-69-117) as approved by Ordinance %435 for Professional Offices and a Service Station. His report stated that all street improvements are existing or their instal, lation has been required under previous Council and Com}~ission action. Mr. My.ers recommended that a minute order be adopted approving the parcel map subject to final approval by the City Engineer and recordation of the map. It was moved by Mr. Larnard, seconded by. Mr. Webster, that a minute order be adopted ap~oroving Parcel Map (PM-69-25) subjec~ to final approval by the City Engineer and recordation of the map. Above motion carried unanigously. MILTON CURTIS - NEW PLANNING COMMISSIONER Mr. Oster extended a welcome to Mr. Curtis as a member of the Planning Commission. It was moved by Mr. Mahoney, seconded by Mr. Curtis, that the mee~in~ be adjourned. Carried unanimously.
