ORDINANCE NO. 703
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNIN-
HABITED TERRITORY , DESIGNATED "NEWPORT-ORANGE ANNEXA-
TION NO. 99" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN. CALIFORNIA
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does ordain

as follows:

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Government Code of
7 the State of California, application was made to the Local Agency Formation
Comnhission to annex to the City of Tustin all that territory situated in
8 the County of Orange, State of California, hereby designated as "Newport-
Orange Annexation No. 99", and described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
9 and incorporated herein by this reference as though set forth heroin in
' full; and

WHEREAS the Local Agency Formation Commission, in session duly
11 assembled, on October 27, 1976, did adopt the negative declaration and
lZ approve said proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS on the 1st day of November, 1976, the Council of the
19 City of Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. 76-118 giving notice of the
proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Tustin, said
1~ territory being therein designated as "Newport-Orange Annexation No. 99",
said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be
15 ~nnexed; and
16 WHEREAS, said Resolution contained a notice of the day, hour
and place when and where the Council of the City of Tustin would hear pro-
17 tests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed
to be annexed, the time of said hearing being prescribed by law; and

WHEREAS, on the 20th day of December, 1976, at the hour of
19 7:30 o'clock, p.m., in the Council Chambers, Centennial at Main in the
City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California, said time and place
~0 being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution for hearing pro-
tests to the said annexation,the said City'Council did hear and pass upon
any and all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that
insufficient protests had been made by the owners of the privately and
publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said
~3 legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Tustin,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the property within the annexed territory shall be
taxed to pay the indebtedness and liability of the City contracted to or
26 existing at the time of annexation;

NOW THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Tustin, does
28 hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to
the City of Tustin, and does hereby further ordain that said territory
be and it is hereby annexed to the City of Tustin.

That said territory, the annexation of which to. the City of

Tustin is hereby approved, is all the territory situated in the County of
51 Orange, State of California, more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof by this-reference.

That the property within the annexed territory shall be taxed
to pay the indebtedness and liability of the City contracted to or existing
at the time of annexation.

Beginning at the ~'d'int of intersection of the centerlines of San
Juan Street and Ilewport Avenue, said point of intersection being
distant [I. 39o51'30" E., 1320 feet more or less from the westerly
corner of Block 12, Irvine's Subdivision, as per map recorded in
Book 1, page 88 of ;,tiscellaneous ,.'.'.aps, Records of Orange Coun. ty,
California, said point of intersection also 5eing the westerly
corner of lot 17, bloc',: 12 of said Irvine"s-Subdivision;
Thence, S. 50°07'20''' E-, along said centerline of. San Juan Street
and along the south~4esterly. line of said lot 17, a distance of
-80.00 feet to an angle point in the existing City of Tustin boundary,
as established by the prescott-3almer Annexation, per Ordinance
130, passed and adopted November 2, 1959, and the San Juan-Orange
Annexation No- 87, per Resolution ~'ID. 75-2, passed and .adopted
February 3, 1975, said angle point also being the.true point.

Thence, along the existing City of Tustin boundary per above meritlone
San Juan-Orange Annexation No. 87 and the High School Annexation'
per Resolution adopted by the Board, of Supervisors dated June 19,
1957, through th.e following courses: -.- : :
S. 50°07'20'' E., a distance of 582-36 feet; '-
Thence, S. 39°49'15'' W., a distance of 30.00' feet;
Thence, S. 50°07'20'' E., a distance of 10.00 feet;
Thence, S. 39o49'15'' W., a distance of 1'90.24 feet to the point of
intersection with a line parallel to and distant 10.00 feet south-'-
%~esterly of, as measured at right angles to, the southwesterly lir~
of lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and .11, Block A of Mar~in's
Addition to the City of Tustin as per map recorded in BoOk 19, page
~9 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California;
Thence, along said parallel line, N. 50o07'20" W., a distanc~ of "
592.39 feet to th~ point of intersection with the existing City of
Tustin boundary as established by the previously mentioned Prescott-
Balmer ~nnexation; ....
Thence, along said City .of Tustin boundary, 'N. 39o51'30" E., a
