Code to require the entire house be retrofitted
with fire sprinkler system when additions are
made beyond certain thresholds. These
thresholds are:

OCFA Option 1
?
square feet and the addition exceeds 33 percent
: area of the house exceeds 3,600
OCFA Option 2
?
square feet and the addition exceeds 33 percent
OCFA staff has stated that the proposed
requirement for fire sprinkler systems retrofit
would save lives and is warranted due to the
special climatic conditions typical of Orange
County and that local circulation patterns can
be significantly disrupted during an emergency
situation.

?
Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Huntington
Beach, Garden Grove, La Habra, Lake Forest, La
