The meeting was called to order by Cha!zEan Bacon at
7:15 P. M.
~Inutes of the previous meeting of June 29th were read
and approved after it was noted in the final paragraph th~
sa!e meeting was adjourned until July 6, lP53.
Charon. an !~acon presento~ the matter of a request for
Variance Dy Murray G. ~d Florlne Satterfield as held over
from the meeting of June 29th and the same was read to the
members, including several addlttonal names and addresses
of owners of oroperty within three hundred feet of Lot ~,
Tract 324, fo~ which the Varianc(? is requested. The above
mentioned sig~ers being In favor of granting the Variance.
A petition entitled "Opr~osl~ion to Variance" and
sit,ned by three property owner:; within three hundred feet
of the prooerty involved in the request for Variance was
presented by Cnalrman Bacon aad read to the members by
the Clerk.
Mrs. Elsa H. Armstrong, Mr. T. H. Quayle, Mr. Horace
J. Stevens and George A. i~roomell were present and in turn
sd~ressed the Commission and urged that the Variance as re-
quested be ~enied.
Mr. Satterf:eld and Mr. John PollaPa addressed the Com-
m~isslon stating their reasons for desiring that the Vari-
ance be gr~_nted.
Commissioners Tadlock, Gall ion and Means each expressed
their opinions regarding the Variance request and the matter
was discussed at length by the Commission members and others
present.
Upon motion of Commissioner Tad!ock, seconded by Com-
missioner Byrd and duly carried, the Variance request was
denied.
A map o~' Tract No. 1920, as received from ~e Orange
County Planning Commlssion, was prnsented by Chairman Bacon,
viewed and discussed by ali members present. Tract No. 1920
was aoproved as p~esente~ upon motion of Commissioner Means,
seconded by Commissioner !lyrd and carried.
Thc Clerk was instructed to request C~2 ?;nglneer
McBride t~) bring a trnclng of the present Zoning Ordinance
No. 'il uo to date by fillini7 in any changes tha~ have oc-
curred tn the past. Chairm~n Hacon stated ~hat when this
Is done he wlJl ascertain the cost el' a quanti~y of prints
of s~me, th~ exact number to b* dec%dod on later.
Upon motion of Comm/ssloner Ja!]lon, seconded by Com-
missioner Means and duly carried, it was decided to have
100 reprints maae at the lowest price obtainable.
The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Commissioner
?yrd, seconded by Commissioner Tadlock and duly carried.
