History of the Three-foot Landscamp-o-e Ord. No. 1240 approved July 16, 2001 Provides development standards for driveways in residential, commercial, and industrial districts As it applies to residential districts - Requires driveway areas to be separated by a 3 -foot landscape area Limits total paved area not to exceed 50% of the front yard setback area These requirements applied immediately to all residential lots Lots with pre-existing conditions were given 36 -months to come into compliance (expired September 6, 2004) VTVIPLE I Area to be fully landscaped Front yard setback distance b Since Implementation To date, 20 cases have been brought into compliance; 5 cases remain outstanding . May 4, 20 10 - City Council directed staff to obtain Planning Commission input in the matter and report back. Additional code enforcement action is deferred. Commission Input: A buffer should continue to be required to enhance the attractiveness of a residential property Expand options to include flexibility for both landscaping and hardscape features. Review at the discretion of the Community Development Director subject to findings to ensure that any buffer's location, size, features and general appearance are acceptable.
