PLANNING COMMISSION HELD OM THURSDAY
EVENING, MARCH 4, 1954, AT 7:00 P. M.
AT THE CITY HALL.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Messrs. Means, Bacon, Tadlock, Hardy,
Kidd, Gallion, Siegal and Byrd.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Quinn.
ATTORNEY:
C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was absent.
Chairman Bacon called the meeting to order at 7:00
o'clock P. M.
Minutes of the previous meeting of November 30, 1953,
were read by Chairman Bacon and approved by the Commission
members.
Chairman Bacon presented a request for Variance by
Lawrence P. Fricker, who was present, in which permission
is requested to expand the non-conforming use of the South
80 feet of Lots 11 and 12, Block 14, Tustin City Tract, to
the extent of permitting the installation of one or more
tanks of 10,000 gallons capacity for storage of aqua am-
monia and for permission to solidly fence the outer edge
of the above mentioned lots which are to be used in con-
nection with his adjoining retail fertilizer and insecti-
cide business.
Mr. Fricker stated that the tanks will be painted white
and that there will be no odor unless the tanks are run
over at the time of refilling. He also stated that the
aqua ammonia contained therein will not be under pressure
and is not combustible or inflammable.
Commissioner Hardy requested that no receiving be done
on Sunday and that the proposed fence should be of redwood
or interlocking blocks and not more than six feet in height.
These conditions were agreed to by Mr. Fricker.
After general discussion by Commission members, Commissioner
Siegel moved to grant the Variance subject to the work being
done in conformance with the plans submitted with the provision
that no loading or unloading be done on Sunday and that a print
of said plans be submitted to the Clerk of the Commission for
the permanent file.
The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Commissioner Means,
seconded by Commissioner Siegel and Carried.
