PLANNING COMMISSION HELD ON MONDAY
EVENING, AUGUST 16, 1954, AT 7:00
O'CLOCK P. M., AT THE CITY HALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Bacon, Tadlock, Byrd,
Quinn, Hardy and Means.
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Commissioners Kidd, Gallion and
Siegel.
ATTORNEY:
C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was absent.
.~hairman Bacon called the meeting to order at 7:00
o'clock P. M.
Minutes of theprevious meeting of Tuesday, June 1,
1954, were read and approved.
An application for Variance by Zu Duvall, of 210
Pacific Avenue, Tustin, requesting permission to operate
a Beauty Shop within her home at the above address was
read by the Clerk.
Chairman Bacon presented aletter from Mr. and Mrs.
Frank M. Carter, of 250 Pacific Avenue, protesting the
granting of this Variance, which was read to the mem-
bers by the Clerk.
Miss Duvall was questioned in regard to a possible
sign or signs relating to the proposed Beauty Shop. She
stated that the only sign desired was one small direc-
tional sign to be located in lin. e with the intersection
of her private sidewalk and driveway.
Upon motion of Commissioner Hardy, seconded by Com-
missioner Quinn and duly carried, it was agreed to grant
the above requested Variance subject to the following
limitations:
"One only Sign to be permitted, con-
sisting of a Directional Sign to be
located as outlined above. The sign
not to exceed 3 ft. x i ft. in size.
The term of the Variance to be lim-
ited to the tenancy or occupancy of
Miss Duvall at 210 Pacific Avenue.
The space permitted is limited to
the use of one room for the opera-
tion of the Beauty Shop".
A breakdown of expiration dates of the terms of the
nine Commission members was presented, discussed and it
was agreed to present same at the next meeting of the
City Council to be held on August 23, 1954.
The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Commissioner
Quinn, seconded by Commissioner Tadlock and duly carried.
