PLANNING COMMISSION HELD ON MONDAY
EVENING, MAY 16, 1955, AT THE CITY
HALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Bacon, Siegel, Kidd, Means,
Tadlock and Byrd.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioners Gallion, Quinn and Hardy.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
At 7:00 o'clock P. M. Chairman Bacon called the meet-
ing to
Minutes of the previous meeting of March 14, 1955,
were read and approved.
Chairman Bacon read a Variance Application as sub-
mitted by Hugh C. Marshall Co. requesting a change in
building set back requirements for the South 150 feet of
Block "D" of Resubdivision of Blocks "C" and "D", Bundy's
Addition to Tustin, California. Excepting therefrom all
that portion of said land lying Easterly of the West line
of land described in deed to John D. Rinard, from 25 feet
to 18 feet,~ also a change in rear yard requirement to not
less than 5 feet.
Members discussed the Variance Application with Mr.
J. S. Farquhar, representing the Marshall Co., whereupon
Commissioner Means moved that Attorney Nisson prepare a
Resolution granting the application providing a solid
fence of not less than 5 feet in height be built back
from the North side of the proposed garage to the North
property line and thence East to the East property line.
No trees necessarily to be removed. Seconded by Commis-
sioner Tadlock the motion duly carried.
Upon motion of Commissioner Siegel, seconded by Com-
missioner Kidd and carried, City Attorney Nisson was re-
quested to prepare a Resolution to be presented to the
proper' authorities recommending the extension of Fourth
Street East from Tustin Avenue to Irvine Boulevard.
Attorney Nisson was requested to prepare a Resolu-
tion to be presented to the County Road Department rec-
ommending the widening of Seventeenth Street from Tustin
Avenue East to Newport Avenue and recommending the widen-
ing of Newport Avenue Northerly from Tustin Avenue to
Foothill Boulevard, upon motion of Commissioner Siegel,
seconded by Commissioner Byrd and carried.
Chairman Bacon read a letter from the Fullerton
Planning Commission relative to a possible solution to
numerous and oversize temporary subdivision signs. Com-
missioner Means requested that Chairman Bacon notify
the Fullerton Planning Commission that if the Tustin
Planning Commission is notified in advance they will
endeavor to have a representative at one or more future
meetings.
The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Commis-
sioner Tadlock, seconded by Commissioner Byrd and duly
carried.
