Present: Bacon, Tadlock, Means, Hardy, ?~yrd, Siegel. City Attorney IJisson was present and took the minutes for the meeting. Chairman Bacon opened the public hearing in connection with RESOLUTION OF IIdTEP1TI0N TO SUPPLEt•.ZEIdT ORDIT~ANCE id0. 71, AS AMENDED, By recommending the Establishment of Use Zones and Luilding Line Setbacks in the City of Tustin, Where None Now Exist. The first area under discussion was the area known as Claus Annexation to Tustin. On motion by Siegel, seconded by hardy, it was moved that the 75 feet South of First Street and adjoining First Street be recommended for R-3 Zone and that the remaining portion of the Claus ~ Annexation and all of the Gentry Annexation fronting on Prospect ~„~ be recommended to be zoned C-2. That the buildinc; line setback ~,. along First Street be recommended to be 50 feet from the surveyed ~ center line of First Street. That there be a 15 foot building C7 line setback from the property line in the R-3 Zone fronting on d Prospect. That all of the C-2 property recommended for C-2 Zone on Prospect not be required to have a building line setback. After discussion, motion was duly carried. The next area for consideration eras that area known as Griset's Annexation to Tustin. On motion of Tadlock, seconded by Means, and duly carried, it vras recommended that all of Lots Z and E in said annexation the remainder of said area, of Lot Z) be recommended to setbacks be recommended to property Fronting on Sixt#~ line along that portion of Motion was duly carried. be recommended to be zoned C-2 and that (that is, all l'r"est of the 1Yest line be zoned R-1, and tYlat building line be 15 feet from the property line on that Street and 25 feet from the properi~y the area fronting on drain Street. The next item for discussion was that area known as Pankey~s Annexation to Tustili, and after discussion, Siegel moved, Tadlock seconded, to recommend that that property in the city lying Northwesterly of Lots 1 to 7 inclusive in Tract 1863 be zoned C-1. That that porti,~n of Pankey~s Annexation more particularly described as a irregular s}Taped tiarcel of land lying Northwesterly of Lot 33 and a triangular parcel lyin? iJortheasterly of Lots 28 to 33 inclusive, all Lots in Tract No. 183, be recommended to be zoned C-2, and that building; line setbacks be recommended to be 20 feet from the property line on iJewport Avenue as it now exists and 15 feet from the property line on Frontage Road adjoining said property Southerly of the Santa Ana Freeway, and that all of Tract No. 2747 be recommended to be zoned R-1 with building line setbacks as established in the county beinc; re- commended to be continued by the City, and treat the setback along Newport Road be 50 feet from the surveyed center line on both sides in all areas within the city which said setback had not been previously established. That with reference to the two islands (irregularly shaped parcel surrounded by Salita Ana Freeway, Red Hill Avenlze and Frontage Road) at the extreme Easterly end of Pankey's Annexation fronting on Red Hill Avenue, be recommended to be zoned C-1 and setbacks be established at 50 feet from the surveyed center line of Red !-I'll Avenue adjoining each such island and 15 feet from the property lLne ad,joinin~; the Frontage Road. The a~~ove was moved by Siegel, seconded by 141eans, and duly carried. 84 Hardy moved, PJieans seconded, that the remaining triangle of land fronting on the hi~,h sc~iool on the northerly side of the Santa Ana Freeway bounded by the freeway, Laguna Road and Newport Avenue, be recommedned to be zoned C-1 and that no building line setback be required except along Newport Road as hereinabove established at 50 feet from the surveyed center line. Motion was duly carried. That concluded the public Izeari_ng uursuant to the RESOLiJTION OF INTI;IdTI0I1 TO SUPPI.r'i~l;I1T ORDIIJANCE IJO. 71 and Chairman Racon concluded the public hearing thereon. ti'~hereupon, Siegel moved, Means seconded, that a resolution embodying the above recommendations esta'olished by motion be passed by the Planning Commission, whereupon "Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Tustin Recommending Establishment of Use Zones and Huilding Line Setbacks in the city of Tustin tidhere alone Presently Exist", dated June 11, 1956, was duly adopted. On roll call vote all members voted Aye. /!fter farther discussion hardy moved, Kidd seconded, the following; resolution - "Resolution of Intention to Rezone Certain Property in the City oP Tustin and Change building Setback Lines Within the City of Tustin.
