MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE TUSTIN PLANNING COMMISSION,
MAY 26th, 1958.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Siegel, Tadlock, Means, Mrs. Gregory, Clark
& Dr. Stanton.
ABSENT : Bacon
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.
In the absence of Chairman Bacon, Vice-Chairman Siegel opened
the meeting at 7:05 P. M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed.
On motion of Means, seconded by Clark, Vice-Chairman Siegel
opened the hearing on the rezoning of the Preble property
as described in the published notice in the Tustin News,
May 15th, 1958.
Mr. Watson Easterly representing Mrs. Gillispie, owner of the
adjacent property on the easterly line, stated that she had
no objections as to the zoning but would like a fence
erected as a protective measure.
Mr. Ross Shaffer owner of adjacent property on the North-
erly line made the same request and stated that he had no
objections to the rezoning.
There being no one who desired to speak further on the
subject the hearing was declared closed, on motion of
Tadlock, seconded by Stanton.
In the ensuing discussion and at the request of the
developers of the property, it was determined that the
zoning map should be corrected so that the portion
shown on the map zoned C-2, North 150 feet, and fronting
East Main Street, be reduced to 138 feet and the balance
Northerly, then would be 501.5 feet.
On motion of Clark, secon~t, ed by Stanton, RESOLUTION NO. 509,
with the corrections as stated above, be recommended to the
Tustin City Council for rezoning as per application, be
adopted. Motion carried, all members present voting Aye.
Motion of Tadlock, seconded by Clark that Tentative
Subdivision Maps, No. 2187 from New Homes, Inc., Newport
Beach, Calif., be received and referred to City Engineer
McBride for recommendation. Motion carried.
Two copies of Variance Applications to the Orange County
Planning Department, from applicants in the Tustin Area
of Influence, were read and on motion of Means, seconded
by Clark, the Secretary of the Planning Commission was
instructed, to inform the County Planning Commission
there were no comments or recommendations.
Motion of Means, seconded by Tadlock that rezoning as
shown on Sectional District Map 4-5-9, Exhibit G, submitted
by the Orange County Planning Commission, be approved.
Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
