ABSENT Humeston ~_, CITY ATTORNEY Dennis D. Hayden, Present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:45 P. M. It was moved by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried, that the minutes be approved as mailed. REQUEST The Griffith Company requested a twenty (20) day extension FOR 20 on the contract for the improvement of Second Street, DAY EXT. Main Street and California Street. GBIFFITH CO. On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried the above request was granted. A letter was received from John E. Pollard, General Con- REFUND ON tractor, asking for refund on Building Permit No. 406, not BLDG PE8- used because of purchase of the land by the State of MET FOR California for highway purposes. Motion of Councilman Byrd, JOHN seconded by Councilman Tadlock that the Building Permit Fee, POLLARD. less the X10.00 Plan Check Fee, be refunded as per the request of John E. Pollard. Motion carried. MULLIN Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd LUMBER CO. that City Engineer McBride be authorized to proceed with CURB & East First Street improvement between D Street and Prospect GUTTER Avenue, adjacent to the combination curb and gutter to be constructed by the Mullin Lumber Co., cost not to exceed ,1500.00 Motion carried. COST OF Engineer McBride agreed to report on cost of installation of ORNAMEN- ornamental light standards for the information of property TAL LIGHTSowners on Carfax and Del Amo Streets. DEL AMO &(Carfax.) MOTION Motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Tadlock F08 NEW that the Police Department purchase a new typewriter, cost TYPE- not to exceed X225.00. Motion carried. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon TUSTIN that the Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant to defray HOST TO necessary expense as Host to Orange County City League at LEAGUE this regu lar monthly dinner meeting at the Revere House, OF CITY September 25, 1958.
