HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Minutes 10-13-58MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN PLANNING COMMISSION OCTOBER 13, 1958. MEMBERS PRESENT: Bacon, Tadlock, Means, Siegel, Mrs. Gregory, Clark & Dr. Stanton. ABSENT : None. Dennis D. Hayden, City Attorney and City Engineer McBride also present. Chairman Bacon called the meeting to order at ?:00 P. M. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed, on Motion of Dr. Stanton, seconded by Means. Chairman Bacon opened the hearing on re-zoning of property on B Street and C Street between Main and Sixth Streets. There being no one present desiring to speak Pro or Con On the re-zoning, and no written protests received, the hearing was declared closed, on Motion of Tadlock, seconded by Means and carried. Motion of Siegel, seconded by Tadlock, that RESOLUTION NO. 512, "A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, California, recommending changes in zoning for certain real property described herein," be adopted. Motion carried, all present voting Aye. Motion of Dr. Stanton, seconded by Clark that the Secre- tary of the Planning Commission transmit copies of RESOLUTIONS NO. 511 and 512 to the Tustin City Council. Motion carried. Ralph B. Vreeland, owner of oroperty immediately south and adjacent to the Schneider Tractor Company, appeared before the Commission and requested information as to the possibility of re-zoniig said property to C-1. He was informed as to the requirements for re-zoning and also that it was not possible to request a variance for a specific use and that it was not possible for the members of the Planning Commission to make a committment as to use, until after all the required procedures had been completed. A communication and map with recommendations from the Street Naming Committee appointed by the Associated Chamber of Commerce and the Orange County Board of Supervisors, was received and discu~sed at length. Chairman Bacon appointed Siegel, City Engineer McBride, and Tadlock as an advisory committee and if possible confer with the Planning Commission of Santa Ana, on the renaming of First Street and 17th Street.
