Present: Bacon, Mitchell, Sheridan, Mueller, Morris, Smith City Engineer McBride, present City Attorney Rourke, present Moved by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Mitchell that minutes of January 8th meet- ing be approved as mailed and received. APPHOVAL OF Motion made by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Smith and duly carried, ratifying oral architectural approval of Tastee Freez Building, Laguna Road, Tustin, California. DEFINITION OF 'PERMIT' AS USED IN SECT. 5.23 o~' ORD. NO. 157 Motion made by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Mitchell ratifying oral decision that the word "permit" as used in section~, c.23 of Ordinance No..157, [s interpreted to mean only permits when e×ception exists. TUSTIN UNITED CHURCH Reverend Weinert presented plans for oro- oosed North Tustin United Church-Congregational, to be constructed on the southwest corner of Dodge Street and Newport Avenue. SIGN TO BE USED TO ADVEHTISE TRACT OFF OF PROSPECT AVE. Hearing on Use Permit application of Dixon Tubbs for a directional sign on property at First Street and Newport Freeways opened at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Welch of Carter Sign Com- pany explaiDed that sign would be used to advertise tract off of Prospect Avenue, north of F~rst Street. There being no further comments or questions, the hearing was declared closed. TRACT MAP NO. 4441 RESUBMITTED- ADOPTION OF SAME SUBJECT TO AN- NEXATION OF THE Pi{~,'P EhTY INVO1.VED Mr. John Siegel, Jr. resubmitted tentative map for Tract No. 44gl. Moved by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Morris that tentative me? for Tract No. 4441 be aporoved subject to the annexation of property involved and to city engineer's approval of drainage and that dedication of i foot strip on southerly line be withheld until property owner on south develops property. Motion carried. PiiESENTATION OF NEW BLDG. FOR FOSTER AHT BOOKS ON 6 ST. Mr. Putnam presented plans for new building to be constructed by Foster Art Books on property in PM zone at 6th Street, Tustin, California. ACCEPTANCE OF DRAWING AND APPROVAL OF PLANS OF ABOVE SUBJECT TO RESTRICTIONS Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Mitchell to accept the drawings and approve plans of Foster Art Books, 6th Street, Tustin, as presented subject to the following stipulations: avocado trees on Sixth Street be trimmed to a 17 foot clearance; curb, gutter, sidewalks and 6½ feet of street paving be completed along 400' of Sixth Street. Letter from Marvin I.awrence regsrding establish- ment of an off-street parking lot in R-3 zone in connection with Dr. Henry Eastman's Medical Building read by Secretary. Mr. Lawrence asked what steps would have to be taken regarding permit for use of this property and was told to apply for a Use Permit. RESOLUTION NO. Motion carried. Mr. Smith abstained from voting. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 157, Mr. Bacon appointed the following commissioners to an architectural committee' Frank Morr~s chairman Richard Smit~ Ralph Mitchell Motion made by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Mueller and duly carried ratifying the above appointments. Moved by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Mitchell that the study and recommenda- tions for amendments to Ordinance No.15? be deferred to March 12,1962 meeting. Motion carried.
