Meeting called to order at 7'30 P.M. by Chairman Bacon.

meeting be approved. Motion carried.
Hearing on UP 62-113 for Truxton Corp.
to permit a 10' x 25' directional sign
on West side of Tustin Avenue South of
Main Street was opened at 7'33 P.M.
~V~r. Welch of Carter Sign Co. spoke in
behalf of the applicant.
There being no further comments or no
objections, the Hearing was declared
closed.
Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr.
Mitchell that Resolution No. 580
denying said application, on the grounds
that it would violate city Freeway Or-
dinance, be passed and adopted. Motion
carried by roll call - Ayes' Bacon,
Sheridan, Mitchell, Morris, Bourret.
Abstained' Mueller.
Hearing on UP application No. 62-117
of Kaufman & Broad Homes Inc. opened at
7' 45 P .M.
Mr. Donald Bixby, agent, requested that
Hearing be deferred until September llth
Meeting due to lack of acceptable develop-
ment plans.
Moved by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr.
Mitchell that Hearing on UP 62-117 be
continued to September llth Meeting.
Carried.
Hearing on UP 62-116 of Tustin Village
Cleaners to permit a two-faced electric
pole sign at 35 Laguna Hoad, opened at
7' 47 P.M.
Mr. Powell of Powell Neon Sign Company
spoke on behalf of the applicant.
There being no objections or further
comments, the Hearing was declared closed.
Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Mueller that
ADOPTION OF Resolution No. 581, approving said sign and stipul-

REQUEST HEARING
Hearing on UP 62-118 of Paul Bonser to permit an
8' x 12' directional sign on the Northeast corner
of Tustin and Newport Avenues opened at 8 P.M.

Mr. Welch of Carter Sign Company spoke on behalf
of the applicant.

RESOLUTION # 582
GRANTING SIGN
REQUEST OF
BONSER
Clerk reported a request from the AT & SF RR that
for safety sake, sign have a ~$ound clearance of not
less than 12' above RR bed.
Moved by Mr. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Morris that
Resolution No. 582, approving UP 62-118 be passed
and adopted, stipulating that sign be at least 12'
above bed of railroad and be granted for one year
subject to a $100.00 removal bond. Motion carried
by roll call - Ayes: Bacon, Mitchell, Mueller,
Morris, Bourret. Noes: Sheridan.

Hearing on Amendment to Ordinance No. 157 as amended
by Ordinance No. 175, opened at 8:20 P.M.
There being no one present with objections, the
Hearing was declared closed.
HEIGHT LIMITS
Discussion of the commission as to changes permitting
'R' use in a C-1 zone and height limits in H-2 zone
followed.

consideration of height limit in R_2 zone be referred
to the Architectural Committee for study and report.

Moved by Mr. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Morris that
Resolution No. 583 be passed and adopted recommending
to the.Council that Ordinance No. 157 as amended by
Ordinance No. 175 be ~mnded to include the following
uses in the C-1 Zone: 'Multiple family dwellings,
apartment houses, hotels, motels, dwelling groups
and professional offices, churches, libraries, and
other public or quasi-public buildings, public utility
buildings and uses not including corporation yards,"
Motion carried by roll call, all members present
voting Aye.

TO COUNTY CP1006 County Planning Commission be informed that this com-
mission', has no objections to CP1006. Carried.

Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Mueller that
secretary write the County Planning Commission
voicing this commission's objections to UV5040 stating
the setbacks not adequate on Irvine Boulevard and
questioning the access to the four parking spaces
on Elizabeth Way. Carried.

the County Planning Commission be informed that this
commission has no comment on UV5039 due to in-
sufficient information. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr.
NEWPORT AVENUE Mueller that City Engineer or Assistant
ALIGNMENT MEETING_ to the City Engineer be asked to attend
ENGINEER TO REPORT the prelimina~ry meeting on the Newport
BACK TO COM. Alignment on August 30th and report to
this commission. Motion carried.

DISCUSSION ABOUT

AVE. FROM WASS
TO WINDSOR LANE
The following appeared before the com-
mission regarding County Sectional
District Map IRS_13 Exhibit ~Q" which
proposes a zone change from R-1 to C-2
and R-2 on Newport Avenue from Wass
Street to Windsor Lane, requesting
reasons why this commission objected
such changes and explaining the bottle-
neck of traffic at this point on Newport
Avenue and hardships on property owners
due to the size of lots and the un-
suitability for H-1 use:

of Commission as to a car storage lot in the
M-1 District located between Newport and
Tustin Avenue,just North of Sante Fe RR.
Mr. Pate was informed he would have to apply
for a Use Permit before any consideration
could be given his request.

Mr. Don Ayres, Jr: presented plans for a
PE~ Development on the property within the
John Jacobs Annexation and was told to
apply for necessary zone change as soon as
said annexation was final.

Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Mueller
that Resolution No. 584, recommending adoption
of an ordinance regulating Mobile Parks, be
passed and adopted. Motion carried by roll
call, all members present voting Aye.

SIGNS & THE IR
SUPPORTS
Moved by Mr. Mueller, seconded by Mr.
Mitchell that Resolution No. 585, recommend-
ing adoption of an ordinance regulating the
construction, erection, alteration, repair
and maintenance of advertising signs and their
supports be passed and adopted. Motion
carried by roll call, all members present
voting Aye.

Correction'
Resolution No. 583 to recommend that Ordinance
