September 11, 1962
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Bacon.
Present: Bacon, Sheridan, Mitchell, Morris, Smith,
Bourret
Absent: Mueller
City Engineer McBride, present
City Attorney Rourke arrived at 7:45 P.M.

Hearing on UP application No. 62-117 dropped for
lack of completed information.
Hearing on Variance application No. 62-118,
Humble Oil & Hefinery to permit two canopies
and two signs on station at corner of First
Street and Tustin Avenue, opened at 7:38 P.M.
Application and letter from Orange County
Planning Department stating no objection
to said application, read by clerk.
Mr. J. Merriman, District Engineer, for Humble
Oil, spoke explaining reasons for request.
Hearing declared closed at 7'50 P.M.
Moved by Mr. Sheridan, seconded by Mr. Mitchell
that Hesolution No. 586, granting UP 62-118 due to
particular condition as pertains to this property
as it exists and not to establish a precedent.
Carried, roll call: Ayes: Bacon, Sheridan, Mitchell,
Smith, Bourret. Noes: Morris.
Hearing on UP application No. 62-119, Jacobson
Corporation to permit signs and use of garage
as sales office in Tract No. 4521 opened at
8' 07 P.M.
Mr. E. Jacobson spoke in behalf of request.
Hearing declared closed at 8'10 P.M.
Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Smith that
Hesolution No. 587 granting UP 62-119 be passed
and adopted. Motion carried, roll call, all
members present voting Aye.
Discussion held regarding Minute Order of
September 27th, amending Ordinance No. 157 as
amended by Ordinance No. 175.
Moved by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Morris
that copy of Ordinance No. 182, amending
Section 4.7 of Ordinance No. 157 as amended
by Ordinance No. 175 be approved as presented
by the clerk and Minutes of August 27th be
corrected to so conform. Motion carried.

Hearing on UP application No. 62-120 to permit a
temporary directional tract sign at Seventeenth
Street and Yorba, opened at 8'30 P.M.
DISCUSSICN
Clerk read application and correspondence from the
County Planning Department reoommending that sign
display only necessary travel directions and name
of land development.
Mr. D. Hayden of Union Sign Company spoke in behalf
of U.P. request.
Hearing declared closed at 8'32 P.M.

GRANTED
$100 BOND
Moved by Mr. Mitchell, seconded by Mr. Morris that
Resolution No. 588, granting UP 62-120 for a period
of one year and subject to posting of $100.00 re-
moval bond and sign to display only necessary
travel directions and the name of the land. develop-
ment, be passed and adopted. Motion carried by
roll call, all members present voting Aye.
NC OBJECTIONS Moved by Mr. Bourret, seconded by Mr. Mitchell that

Moved by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Mitchell that
correspondence be received and filed. Carried.
Mr. McBride reported that a written report as to
alignment of Newport Avenue will be sent to Mr.
Rourke and a copy to this commission.

Repor$ on Architectural Committee regarding height
limit in R-2 zones deferred to later date.
Moved by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Morris, that
Resolution No. 589 commencing proceedings to re-
zone entire remaining property facing Third St.,
situated North side of Third from"D~ Street to
"C" Street from ~-3zone to C-2 zone be passed and
adopted. Motion carried by roll call, all members
present voting Aye.
