Present: Absent: Bacon, Hefner, Ring, Marsters, Enderle Lawrence Also Present: City Attorney Rourke, Ca~Isen, Wheelock, Hilton. Min. approv. Moved by Hefner, seconded by Ring that Minutes of April 13, be approved as m~lled. Carried. UP64-166 Hearing opened at 7:35 P.M. on UP64-166 of First Church First of Christ, Scientist, to permit the construction of a Church church building at 440 ~. Main Street. Christ Scientist Location and plans explained and seven recommended conditions presented by Mr. Wheelock. Those speaking in favor of U.P.: Howard Robertshaw, representing the applicants. H.R. Witham, Theodora Drive A. Theurich, Arbolada Way Speaking against said U.P.: Paul Snow, 430 W. Main Street, representing petitioners Shirley Robertson, W. Main Street Hearing closed There being no further comments or protests, the Hearing was declared closed at 8:50 P.M. UP64-168 Hearing opened at 8:10 P.M. on UP64-168 of Foster & Foster& Klelser to permit the erection of one outdoor advertising Klelser structure at 17621 Seventeenth Street. Mr. Don Davis s~oke representing applicant. Mr. &. Theurich of Arbolada Way spoke on behalf of TAHOA objecting to UP64-168. Sharpe Euclid-Berger Company, to permit building a detached garage to house three-quarter ton truck with overhead pipe rack and 6' x 8' trailer at 13192 Laburnum Drive. Var. explain Variance explained by Mr. Wheelock. There being no Hearing comments or objections, the hearing was declared closed closed at 8:30 P.M. Resol. No 719 Var. 64-142 Passed adopted UP64-170 Orange Coast Lumber Comp. Moved by Enderle, seconded by Ring that Resolution NO. 719 approving Variance 64-142 be passed and adopted. Motion carried, by roll call. Ayes, Bacom, Hefner, Ring, Marsters, Enderle. Absent: Lawrence. Hearing opened at 8:35 P.M. on UP64-170 of Orange Coast Lumber Company to permit a retail lumber operation at the Southwesterly corner of Edinger Street and Red Hill Avenue. Resol. 721 UP64-170 Passed adopted Moved by Enderle, seconded by Hefner that Hesolution No. 721, ap9roving UP64-170 with conditions presented, excepting conditions #4 and # 7 be passed and adopted. Carried - Ayes: ning, Enderle, Hefner, Bacon, Noes: Marsters. Absent: Lawrence. Ord. No.203 Sec.7.23 be amended withdrawn Moved by Hefner, seconded by Enderle that this Commission recommend to the City Council that Ordinance No. 203, Section 7.23 be amended to remove the requirement for sidewalks in industrial areas. Motion and second withdrawn. Sec. 7.23 Oral. No. 203 be removed carried Moved by Hefner, seconded by Enderle that this Commission recommend to the Council that Section 7.23 of Ordinance No. 203 requiring sidewalks in industrial areas be removed. Carried - Ayes: Enderle, Ring, Hefner. Noes: Marsters, Bacon. Absent: Lawrence. Resol. 721 grant lng Up64-170 be amended carried Moved by Hefner, seconded by Marsters that motion adoptlno~ Resolution No. 721, granting UP64-170 be amended so that condition #2 will read - to conform with Ordinance #203 as it reads at the time building permit is granted." Motion carried - Ayes: Bacon, Hefner, Ring, Marsters, Cnderle. Absent: Lawrence. Tentative Tract 5614 Mao for tentative Tract 5614 located on Yorba Street between Fourth and Seventeenth Streets presented by Mr. Wheelock, along with 13 recommended conditions. Resol.720 Moved by Ring, seconded by Enderle that Resolution No. passed 720 be passed and adopted aporovlng map for Tentative adopted ap?roy.Tract 5614 with the 13 recommended conditions. Carried Tentative be roll call- Ayes: Bacon, Enderle, Ring, Hefner. Tract 5614 Abstained: Marsters. Absent: Lawrence. Final Tract MaD 5390 Final Tract Map 5390 presented by Mr. Wheelock with recommendation for aporoval as presented. Carried unanimously. 5109 approv. ~oved by H~fner, seconded by Enderle that notice be given of a Public Hearing to consider rezonlng property norhterly of ~'aguna Load and Red Hill Avenue, from "U" to R-3, R-4 and C-2. Carried. Moved by Hefner, seconded by Marsters that the County be informed that this Commission recommends holding C-1099 in abeyance until a study of entire area including roads, etc. can be made. Carried. c-ll02 Moved by Ring, seconded by Hefner that the County dlsapprov Planning be informed that this Commission-d~sapproves reasons of C-1102 as submitted by the County, for the following listed reasons: $ Development of area in predominately R-1 Adjacent to existing school Development encourages families of higher density than R-1 ~ Motion carried. uv5348 carried Moved by Marsters, seconded by Hefner that we advise the County that this Commission has no objections to UV5348. Moved by Ring, seconded by Hefner that correspondence be received and filed. Carried ReGuest of this Commission to the Council that Step # 2 of report by Mr. Adsit be available at the next regular meeting. Clifton Moved by Hefner, seconded by hing that a Eesolution be Miller adopted, that inasmuch as Clifton Miller, durl~g his re-appt, tenure on the Planning Commission has demonstrated a Planning high degree of knowledge in planning and architectural Commission skill and has shown a soirit of coooeration with the Commission, City Council and the general oubllc in planning matters and has reoe~tedly demonstrated in his voting, a concern and desire to ~romote encourage and protect the interests of the people and the City's welfare - therefore, we recommend his reappolntment to the City Planning Commission.
