TUSTIN PLANNING COMMISSION
November 23, 1964
Meeting called to order at 7:32 P.M. by Mr. Bacon.
Present: Bacon, Hefner, Enderle, Marsters, Halus,
Brand, Sharp.
City Attorney Rourke, present.
Moved by Halus, seconded by Brand that Minutes of
November 9th meeting be approved as mailed and
received. Carried.
Moved by Hefner, seconded by Halus, that the term CHAIRMAN OF THE

Moved by Halus, seconded by Marsters that Mr. Donald D. HEFNER APPT.
Hefner be appointed Chairman of the Planning Commission CHAIRMAN
for a 2 year term. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Hefner assumed the chair and asked for nominations
for chairman pro-tern.
Moved by Halus, seconded by Enderle that a Resolution RESOL. 753
753 be adopted commending Mr. Frank Bacon for his years COMMENDING
of faithful service as chairman of this commission. F. BACON
Carried unanimously.
Moved by Enderle, seconded by Brand that Mr. L. Marsters L. MARSTERS
be appointed chairman pro-tern of the Tustin Planning CHAIRMAN
Commission. Carried. PRO-TEM
Hearing opened at 7:40 P.M. to consider amending
Section 5.11 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City,
Ordinance No. 157, as amended.

Details of proposed ordinance explained by Mr. Haworth.
Moved by Halus, seconded by Marsters that Resolution RESOL. 754
754 be passed and adooted recommending to the City Council PASSED
that an Ordinance amending Section 5.11 of the Zoning ADOPTED
Ordinance be adooted. Carried by roll call. Ayes: AMENDING
Hefner, Marsters, Bacon, Enderle, Halus, Brand, Sharp. SECT. 5.11
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Case No. 857 of the County of Orange explained by
Mr. Haworth who recommended denial as this zoning is
not in keeping with good planning and no basis for
continuance of commercial south on Newport Ave.

Moved by Halus, seconded by Brand that the County
Planning Commission be advised that th~s commission
recommends denial of prooosed change of zone to 100-
Cl-10,000 as set forth in case 857 as there is no
need or justification for additional commercial zoning
in this area and that a creation of new zoning data
in the area at this time could orove detrimental to
the purposes of Tustln General Plan Study. Carried.

saw no objections due to the termoorary nature of the
business.

has no objections to UV 5447. Carried.

County UV 5448 explained by Mr. Haworth who stated
the staff had no objections to thls Variance subject
to the zoning requirements in the City ordinance
requiring one covered parking space for each unit.

Moved by Enderle, seconded by Halus that the County
Planning be advised that this commission has no
objections to UV 5448. Carried.
Moved by Brand, seconded by Sharp that above motion
be amended to include that development be subject to
City Ordinance re~uiring one covered parking space
for each unit. Carried.
CORR. FROM Correspondence from Tustin Presbyterian Church requesting
TUSTIN extension of Variance 63-135 read.
PRES. CHURCH
Moved by Bacon, seconded by Marsters that Variance
V. 63-135 63-135 of Presbyterian Church be extended for one year
EXTENDED FOR at which time they may reapoly. Carried.

The Commission stated their unanimous appreciation to
High School students attending this meeting and invited
them to return at any time.
