AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE TUSTIN CITY
CODE RELATIVE TO PURCHASING.
4 The City Council o~ the City of Tustin, California,
5 ordains as follows:
6 1. .Section 2-65C. of Chapter Two, Article VI, is hereby
7 amended to read as follows:
8 C. If the amount of expenditure for a contractual
.service or for a commodity or for a class of commodities
9 normally obtainable from the same sources of supp!y~ or
a sale of personal property which has been found by the
10 City Council not to be required for public user is
estimated to exceed $_5,000, contract bid shall be solicited
11 by public notice and written contract shall be awarded.
2. Section 2-66A of Chapter Two, Article VI, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
14 A. If the amount of the expenditure for a contractual
service or for a commodity or for a class of commodities
15 normally obtainable from the same sources of supply, or
a sale of personal property which has been found by the
16 City Council not to be required for public use, is esti-
mated to be less than $5,000, it shall be an open market
17 transaction and shall not be subject to the requirements
of Section 2-65C. HowEver, all such open market transac-
18 tions involving in excess of $500 shall, wherever possible,
be based on at least three competitive bids.

3. This Ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency
20
ordinance and shall become effective immediate].~- upon
adoption.
23 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
~4 held on the 16th day-of July, 19'73.

and foregoing Ordinance No, 588 was duly and regularly introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16th day of
July , 1973, and was given its second reading and duly passed and
adopted as an urgency ordinance at a regular meeting held on the I6th
day of July , 1973, by the following vote:
