2 AMENDING ARTICLE V, SECTION 8, OF THE TUSTIN
SIGN ORDINANCE, NO. 438, PERTAINING TO REAL ESTATE
SIGNS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS
4 The City Council of the dity of Tustin, California,
5 does ordain as follows:
6 1. Article V, Section 8, of the Tustin Sign'Ordinance,'
7 No. 438 is hereby amended by the addition of the following:

9 (1) Real' estate signs exceeding fou~ (.4) feet in
height and/or six (6) square feet in area per
10 side shall be permitted under the .follOwing
11 conditions:
-1~ (a) Signs. shall have no more than six (6)
square feet per side of advertising surfacel
'13 (b) Maximum height above grade of any 'trim or
14 ~ign part shall"be seven (7) feet.
15 (c) Minimum clearance above grade shall be
three (3) feet to any trim or sign part,
' other than its supporting post.

17 (d) Maximum area of a sign and its trim shal.~
not exceed 18 sq. ft, within a circumscri
regular geometrical figure; i.e., circle,
18 square or rectangle.
19 (e) The maximum measurable horizontal or ver-
tical'width of the advertising surface
shall not exceed five feet.
(f) Individual sign prototype designs shall be
i submitted to the Development Prev~e Com-
~ ~_ ~ mission and approved prior to obtaining a
Z3 permit for any individual sign.
24 (g) Permits shall be obtained for each sign
.. thereafter. Fees' shall be paid for permits
~5 in accordance with the following schedule:
For each model or prototype of a common
style or design -T $ 25.00
~? For each sign~of 'a prototype group, after
' initial approval of the prototype

~9 For each individual sign, not a part of
30 an approved brototype group -- $10.00

1 (h) An identification mark shall be provided by
the Building Department to indicate that
~ each sign in any given prototype group has
~- ~ met design and structural requirements.
4 (i) Signs conforming'to any of the designs of
the attached exhibits are deemed to meet th~
requirements of this section, and permits
5 for their use may be obtained from the
Building Department. Variations from these
6 styles and designs as shown on the attached
V exhibits shall require the approval of the
Development Preview Commission and com-
pliance with the requirements stipulated
8 above.
9 (j) Extraneous sign information such as "Sold",
"Contact Mr. " shall not be
· etc.,
10 attached or located outside the permitted
11 six square feet advertising surface.
12' (k) Real estate signs as defined by this amend-
ment shall be limited to one such sign per
1~ subject proper.ty for lease or for sale, and
shall be located no closer than five feet tc
nor protrude in or over any public right-
14 of-way line.

--- (1) Real estate signs in this category shall be
16 removed from subject property within one
week of the signing of the sale or lease
contract by the new owners or lessees of
17 the property·

going Ordinance No. 537 was duly and. regularly introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council he]'d on
the 22nd day of February , 1972 , and was given
its second reading and duly passed and adopted at a regular
meeting held on the 6th day of March 1972

The North one-half of Lot 16 in Black B of the Chapman Tract, as
shown on a Map recorded in book 102, page 15 of Miscellaneous 'Maps,
records of Orange County, California.
Excepting therefrom ~hat portion described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Eas~ line of said Lot 16, s'aid point
being in the center line of Prospect Avenue and located South 3° 29' 15
West 312.40 feet from the Northeast corner of said Lot 16; running
thence South 89° 22' West 685.52 feet to a point in the West line of
