Thomas, Mayor c/o William Huston City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 Dear Mayor Thomas & Members of the City Council: As you know, it is my desire to nm as a candidate for the Tustin City Council for the election on November 5, 2002. In accordance with the Tustin City Code, it is necessfiry that I resign my position as a Planning Commissioner prior to filing my Declaration of Candidacy with the City Clerk. I anticipate filing my candidacy papers in early August. Therefore, this letter shall serve as my resignation from the Tustin Planning Commission effective August 1, 2002. I will continue to serve until then. It has been a tremendous honor to work for and with each of you on behalf of the citizens of Tustin. I have enjoyed my tenure on the Planning Commission tremendously. As you know, the Planning Commission is gearing up to handle a number of interesting and complex projects in the coming months. An extended vacancy on the Commission would be, in my opinion, unfortunate. It is my hope that between now and the effective date of my resignation you are able to find a qualified candidate who will be ready assume the duties of Planning Commissioner for the meeting on August 12, 2002. Thank you again for your confidence in me over the past several years. Chairman, Tustin Planning Commission
