RESOLUTION NO. 2468
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A REQUEST TO CONSIDER
ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 87-5, TO ALLOW CHURCH
USES IN THE PLANNED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (PM) SUBJECT TO
A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, California does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. The Planning Commission finds and determines that:
A. The Planned Industrial District (PM) does not currently list
church uses as a permitted use subject to a Conditional Use
Permit.
B. The proposed Amendment would be consistent with the General Plan
in that the General Plan recommends that industrial areas be
preserved and protected against encroachments of conflicting and
non-compatible land uses and churches are not incompatible with
existing uses currently permitted in the PM District.
C. That the approval of this amendment would also automatically
allow churches in all other industrial districts.
D. The proposed land use would not represent an incompatible land
use in the PM District or in the area surrounding the PM
Di stri ct.
E. The Conditional Use Permit will provide the ability to mitigate
any potential impacts of a church use in the PM District through
imposition of the conditions that could be imposed on individual
appl i cations.
II. The Planning Commission hereby approves the request for consideration
of Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 87-5 and recommends to City Council
approval of said Amendment, as shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto and
included herein by reference.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held on
the 8th day of February, 1988.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TKHE CITY OF
TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
SECTION 9241 (b.) OF PART 4 OF CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 9 OF
THE TUSTIN CITY CODE TO ALLOW CHURCHES IN THE PLANNED
INDUSTRIAL (PM) DISTRICT SUBJECT TO A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT
The City Council of the City of Tustin does ordain as follows'
Section 1'
"That Section 9241 b. of Part 4, Chapter 2, Article 9 of the
Tustin City Code be amended to add churches to the use of
conditionally permitted uses."
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin City Council held on
the day of , 1988.
