ORDINANCE NO. 0000000 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY.OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY ASCERTAINED,TO BE NECESSARY TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1932-1933, AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CURRENT;YEAR 1932-1933, DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF CENTS ON - EACH $100.00 ON THE WHOLE OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY AS SET BY THE COUNTY ASSESSOR OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, AND EQUALIZED,$Y THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAID COUNTY, AND HEREBY LEVIED UPON THE WHOLE OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin, California, do ordain as follows, to—wit: That Whereas, the City of Tustin, California, did on the 30th day of January, 19252 by Ordinance elect and determine to avail itself of the provisions of the Act of the 27th day of March, 1595, as contained in the Statutes of 1695, page 219, Chapter 152, and as subsequently.amended, relative to the assessment and collection of taxes for Municipal Corporations, and did in accordance therewith on or about said date file with the County Auditor of Orange County, California, a certified copy of said Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 7 of said City of Tustin, as provided by law; And Whereas, the said Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin, California, desires to continue the collection of its taxes in the manner provided in said Ordinance No. 7; And Whereas, the County.Auditor of the County of Orange, State of California, on `or about the let day of August, 1932, filed his statement in writing with the City Clerk and Board of I 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 a 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 MORRIS CAIN ATTORNEY -AT -LPW SANTA ANA. Trustees of the City of Tustin, California, showing the total value of all property within the corporate limits of the said City for the -year 1932-1933, as equalized and collected by the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, and fixed the. sum as shown by the assessment rolls for said year at $540,505.00, exclusive of operative property; and whereas the amount of money ascertained and fixed as necessary to be raised by taxation, to carry on the various departments of the City of Tustin, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for. the current year 1932-1933, is the fixed sum of'$ %0 , 6 7y and whereas, said sura is to be apportioned among the various depart— ments of said City of'Tustin, and placed in:.the general and special funds to pay current municipal expenses on the assessed value of all the real and personal property -within such munici— pality over and above the several sums to be raised as provided by law. SECTION 1. That the total valuation of the taxable property of the City of Tustin, exclusive of operative property, to—wit; $540,505.00, shall be used as a basis for the levy of the taxes of the City of Tustin, California, at the same time and in the same manner County levies are made and collected. SECTION 2. That the rate*of taxation for'the.municipal purposes and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City of Tustin, California,,for the current year 1932-1933'is hereby fixed aty, on the taxable property of said City, and that said amount of 7 G �ri.�✓ in the aggregate, and the rate sum of 3 on each $100.00 of the taxable property of said City is.hereby levied upon all.the taxable property of said City as ascertained by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, as.afore- said, and which said rate so fixed shall be apportioned among special funds to pay the current expenses, bonded indebtedness, —2— 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 18 17 18• 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 MORRIS CAIN ATTORNEY-AT-LAW SANTA ANA. CALIF. and interest and other indebtedness of said City falling due for the current fiscal year 1932-1933, as.follows, to -wit: For the General Fund $1.00 on each $100.00 of the taxable property of sald,City. For the Municipal Improvement Bonds of 1930 bonded Indebtedness Fund, $ 0.301 on each $100.00 of the taxable property of said City.. SECTION 3. This Ordinance is an urgency measure a.nd.is necessary.for the immediate preservation of the peace, health a safety of the residents of the said City of Tustin, and shall take effect immediately after its adoption and publication; the following is a statement of the facts'.constituting such urgency;, it is required by the laws of the State of California ,that the' City Council shall fix and determine the tax rate and make a levy thereof on or before the last Tuesday in August of each year, and in order to provide funds for the City for the current year it is necessari that said Ordinance take effect immediately. SECTION 4. The City.,Clerk is hereby instructed to submit and deliver a certified copy of this Ordinance to the County Auditor of.Orange County, California; on or before the 1st day of September, 1932. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance to be published once in "The Tustin News", a we ekly'newspaper, printed and circulated and published in the City. of Tustin, California, and thereupon it shall immediately take effect and be in force.
