HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 2343 1 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11: 12~ 15 15 16 17 18 10 ~0 21 ~5 _ 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2343 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE FREEWAY IDENTIFICATION SIGN FOR THE TUSTIN AUTO CENTER. The Planntng Commission of the Ctty of Tusttn, California, does hereby resolve as follows- I. The Planntng Commission ftnds and determines as follows- A. The Planned Community Regulations of the Tusttn Auto Center requtred the project developer to supply stgnage adjacent to the Santa Ana Freeway (I-S). B. The Irvlne Company as project developer filed a request with the City to authorize a Freeway Identification Sign for the Auto Center. C. The Planning Commtston reviewed and considered this request at its meeting of June 9, 1986. D. The establishment, maintenance, and operation of this sign will not be, under the circumstances of this case, detrimental to the health, safety,, comfort, or general welfare of the persons residing in the neighborhood of such proposed sign, subject to the fol 1 owl ng fi ndi rigs: ® The application of design criteria, standards, and conditions will allow the identification sign to be compatible with the surrounding area. 2. The height of the sign provides for property site-line opportunities for present and future conditions, and is not excessive in order to provide this exposure. II. The Planning Commission of the City of Tustln does hereby approve the Tusttn Auto Center Freeway Identification Sign, subject to the conditions shown in Exhibit "A". PASSED AND ADQJ~TED at aregular meeting of the Tusttn Planning Commt ;ion held on the 9th day of June, 1986. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Resolution No. 2343 Page two Exhibit "A" Tusttn Auto Center Freeway Identification Sign · The freeway identification sign shall-provide main identification for the Center, and individual identification of each dealer by the type of vehicle sold. · Final construction plans for the sign shall require the review and approval of the Director of Community Development. · The sign shall be fifty (50) feet tall from the top of the earthen berm, and 17.5 feet wide. · The color of the sign shall match the adjacent slump block wall, which is determined as a light beige color. Final color selection shall be reviewed and approved by the Director of Community Development. · The sign letters shall be dark-brown that reverse to appear white when internally illuminated at night. Capital letters on the main identification portion shall be limited to a size of 2 feet 6 inch, with dealer identification letter size limited· to sixteen {16) inches· . 6. The sign will be double faced. · The main identification portion of the sign shall be illuminated to no later than midnight each night. The dealer identification portion shall remain illuminated until closing, or no later than 10:00 p.m. each night. Any extension of these hours will require the review and approval of the Planning Commission.
