HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 2178 1 2 $ 6 ? 9 10 11 12 14 15 16 18 19 20 21 23 25 26 27 25 RESOLUTION NO. 2178 A BESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AUTHORIZING THE DISPLAY OF SUPPLEMENTAL SIGNING, CANOPY FACIA SIGNS IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN EXISTING MONUMENT SIGN AT THE ARCO GASOLINE STATION AT 101 NORTH TUSTIN AVENUE The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: I. The Planntng Commission finds and determines as follows: Ae That a proper application, (Use Permit No. 84-21), has been filed on behalf of Atlantic Richfield Co. by Jenkins Sign Co., Inc. to request authorization to display supplemental signing canopy facia business identifiction signs in conjunction with an existing monument sign. Be That a public hearing was duly called, noticed and held on said application. C. That establishment, maintenance, and operation of the use applied for will not, under the circumstances of this case, be ~letrimental to the heal th, safety, morals, comfort, or general welfare of the persons residing or working in the neighborhood of such proposed use, evidenced by the following findings: The request for supplemental sign is in conformance with Section 9481e of the Sign Controls of the City Code. D. That the establishment, maintenance,and operation of the use applied for will not be injurious or detrimental to the property and improvements in the neighborhood of the subject property, nor to the general welfare of the City of Tustin, and should be' granted. E® Proposed development shall be in accordance with the development policies adopted by the City Council, Uniform Building Codes as administered by Orange County Fire Marshal, and street improvement requirements as administered by the City Engineer. F. That the request is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Qual i ty Act. Ge Final development plans shall require the review and approval of the Community Development Department. II. The Planning Commission hereby adopts amended Conditional Use Permit No. 84-21, to authorize the display of supplemental signing at 101 N. Tustin Avenue subject to the following conditions' A. That all non-conforming signs shall be removed prior to the issuance of any permits. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24: 25 26 27 28 Resolution No. 2178 page two Be That the following master signing program is approved in addition to the existing monument sign. 1) Two (2) 2'x7' "Arco" signs may be displayed on the canopy facia with color banding as requested in lieu of any wall i denti fi cati on. 2) One ten' square foot supplemental sign to read "cashier". Ce That any other display of signing must conform to provisions of the City Code Sign Controls.
