HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 185310 11 14 15 16 17 18 19 ~0 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 RESOLUTION NO. 1853 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, GRANTING AUTHORITY TO VARY WITH PROVISIONS OF SIGN ORDINANCE NO. 684. The Planning Agency of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: I. The Planning Agency finds and determines as follows: A. That a proper application, Variance 79-6, was filed on behalf of Schick Moving and Storage to permit installation of a business identification wall sign of 314 square feet on the buil,~fng at · 2721 Michelle Drive and a 75' high flag pole. B. That a public hearing was duly called, noticed, ahd held on said application. C. That because of special circumstances applicable to the subject property, relative to size, shape, topography, location, or sur- roundings, a strict application of the Sign Ordinance is found to deprive the subject property of privileges enjoyed by other properties in the vicinity and under identical zone classification, evidenced by the followina findings: 1. That increase sign identification is needed fOr drivers/ shippers to identify the moving facility to safely exit the freeway. 2. That the larqe:.~ize ~f the building warrants a sign to be por- port ional ly compatible. D. That the granting of a variance as herein provided will not consti- tute a grant of special privilege inconsistent with the limitations upon other properties in the vicinity and district in which the subject property is situatSd. E. That the granting of the variance as herein provided will not be contrary to the intent of the Zoning Ordinance or the public safety, health and welfare, and said variance should be granted. F. Proposed development shall be in accordance with the development policies adopted by the City Council, Uniform Building Codes as administered by the Building Official, and all other pro- visions of the Sign Ordinance as administered by the Community Development Director. G. Final development plans shall require the review and approval of the Community Development Director. II. The Planning agency hereby .grants a variance as applied for, to permit a 314 square foot wall sign and 75' flag pole, subject to the follow- ing conditions: A. That a sign permit shall be applied for by a licensed sign con.- tractor prior to the sign installation. B. That the illumination shall not exceed the intensity provided Resolution No. 1853 page 2. for in Section 4D, Article IV of the Sign Code. C.
