RESOLUTION NO. 1826
A .RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, APPROVING A REQUEST TO VARY WITH PRO-
VISIONS OF SIGN ORDINANCE NO. 684.
The Planning Agency of the City of Tustin does ~ereby resolve as follows:
I. The Planning Agency finds and determines as follows:
A. That a proper application for a sign code variance (No. 79-2), ·
was filed on behalf of Hadiey Fruit Orchard, 630 E1 Camino
Real, for a variance to permi~ a 120 square foot, 40' high p°le
sign on the property described in Exhibit "A':, attached hereto
and incorporated herein by this reference, as though set forth
'herein in full.
B. That a public hearing was duly called, noticed and held on said
application.
C. That the construction, maintenance and operation of the signs
raquested in said application will not, under the circumstances
of this case, be detrimental to the health, safety, morals, or
comfort of persons residing or working in the neighborhood nor
injurious or detrimental to the property and improvements in the
neighborhood of the subject property, nor to the general welfare
of the City of Tustin, and should be grante~.
D. That because of special circumstances applicable to the subject
property, relative to size, shape, topography, location, or
surromndings, a strict application of the Sign Code (Ordinance
No. 684) is found to deprive the subject property of privileges
enjoyed by other properties in the vicinity and under identical
zone classification, evidenced by the following findings:
The location of the business being below the road level of
the freeway.
2. The type of business being traveler oriented, and in need of
freeway identity.
E. That- sign applications are categorically exempt from the provisions
of the California Environmental Quality Act.
II. The Planning Agency hereby approves Variance 79-2 to authorize con-
struction of a sign of 120' square feet for the tenant site at 630
E1 Camino Real, with the following conditions:
A. Submittal of precise sign plans indicating the exact sign lo-
cations and proposed copy for staff review.
B. Pole dover:shall be stained to match trim colors on shopping center
buildings. The sign cabinet shall match the color of the pole
cover.
C. Landscaping shall be provided at the base of the sign in conformance
with the provisions of the shopping center provisions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Agency of the City of
Tustin held on the 2nd day of July, 1979
