HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 1583 4 § 6 ? 8 '9 10 11 14 15 16 18 19 20 21 24 50 RESOLUTION NO. 1583 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, APPROVING USE PERMIT 76-31, AUTHORIZING A POLE SIGN FOR THE PROPERTY AT 150 S. LAGUNA ROAD The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: 1. The Planning Commission finds and determines as follows a. That a proper application (Use Permit 76-31) was filed by Tustin Motor Lodge, to allow the con- struction of a free standing pole sign for the property located at 150 S. Laguna Road. b. That a public hearing was duly called, noticed and held on said application. c. That the construction, maintenance, and operation of a free standing pole sign will not, under the· circumstances of this case, be detrimental to the health, safety, morals, or comfort of per. sons re- siding or working in the neighborhood nor injurious or detrimental to the property and improvements in the neighborhood of the subject property, nor to the general welfare of the City of Tusti~, and should be granted. d. That the entire building is located on one parcel and thereby is entitled by provision of Sign Ordinance #684 to request use of one pole sign. · e. A request for a Negative Environmental Impact Repot has been made and is hereby granted on the finding of an insignificant impact of a 40 ft. high, 85 sq. ft. sign proposal near the Santa Ana Freeway. · 2. The Planning Commission hereby approves Use Permit 76-31 to authorize the construction of a pole sign, 85 sq. ft. in area. and 40 ft. in height to be located at 150 S. Laguna Rd. in accordance with the submitted plans on file with the records of the City, subject to compliance with the criteria of the Sign Code (Ordinanc~ No. 684), to include certification of lighting intensity not to exceed 425 MA soft cool white lamps of not less than 10" on centers and subject to the following con- ditions: a. Submittal of plans with sign cabinet and pole cover design more in keeping with that of the E1 Camino Real area to staff's satisfaction. b. Ail non-conforming signs (per Ordinance #684) must be removed prior to the issuance of a sign permit with the exception of the Laguna Road monument si which shall be redesigned to the satisfaction of the City prior to 1 January 1978. c. The sign shall be located in a fully landscaped planter to be constructed to a size equal in area *85 sq. ft.) to one face of the sign.
