RESOLUTION N0. 1545
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN RECOMMENDING AMENDMENT TO LAND USE ELEMENT
OF'THE GENERAL PLAN RELATIVE TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER
OF CARROL WAY AND MEDFORD
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. The Planning Commission finds and determines as follows
a. That Section 65356.1 of the Government Code of the
State of California provides that when it is deemed
to be in the public interest,the legislative body
may amend a part of the General Plan.
That in accordance with Section 65356 of the
Government Code of the State of California, a publi
hearing was duly advertised and held on September
13, 1976 on the application of the property owner
to consider General Plan Amendment 76-2B to reclas-
sify a six (6) acre portion of land adjacent to the
Newport Freeway at the northwest corner of Carrol
Way and Medford from Single-family to Multi-family
residential use.
b. That an Environmental Impact Report for the re-
quested change was prepared and recommended by the
Planning Commission on September 13, 1976 to the
City Council for certification.
c. That the highest and best use of the land would be
for multi-family residential use of not more than
ten (10) dwelling units per net acre of land, with
sound barriers, common open space, recreation
facilities and internal circulation.
d. That the change in classification would be in the
public interest and not detrimental to the welfare
of the public or the surrounding property owners.
2. The Planning Commission hereby recommends to the City
Council approval of General Plan Amendment 76-2B, amend
ing the Land Use Element to reclassify the six (6)
acre parcel adjacent to the Newport Freeway at the
northwest corner of Carrol Way and Medford Avenue from
R-1 to PC Residential with density not to exceed ten
(10) dwelling units per net acre, subject to the review
and approval of a Use Permit for precise development
plans.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission of the City of Tustin, California held on the 27th day
of September, 1976.
