~ UP 76-1 OF FIVE POI"JT-U-SERVE, INC . FORA SELF-SET_~VE
.SERVICE STATION AT EL CA~~INO REAL AND FIRST STREET
The Planning Commission. of the City of ~ ustin does hereby
resolve as follows: .
1. The Planning Commission finds and deterrt.ines as follows:
A . That a proper application No . UP 76--1 was filed on
behalf of Five Paint-U-Serve, Inca to authorize a
self-serve gasoline. station ~ to be located at the
south westerly corner of First Street and E1 Car.~in.o
Real,'known.-as 100 El Camino ?eal.
B. A public hearing was duly called and held on said
application on .January 12, 1976 and continued. until
February 9 , 19 76 .

C. The Commission finds that the establishment, main--
tenance,' and operation of the use applied for will.
be, under the circumstances of the proposed design,
detrimental to the ,health, safety and general ~rel-
fare of the person residing or working in the neigh-
borhood of such proposed use, evidenced. by the
following findings
1) The noise and exhaust of ;,Tehicles adjacent to
medical-dental offices and resident motel..
2) An inadequate circulation system causing con-
jestion and traffic hazards with curb cuts
interfering with the normal flow of traffic.
3) Disturbance of lights upon adjoining properties .
4) The character of the developrRent in relation-
ship to the intended, proposed and developing
uses in relationship to tZe El .Camino Real
specific plan.
D. The established maintenance and operation of the
self-service gasoline station as applied for at
this location will be injurious or detrimental to
the property and irlprovements in the neighborhood
of the subject property and to the general caelfare
of the City of Tustin, and should be denied.
2. The Planning Commission hereby denies Use Permit 76-1
as applied for, and disapproves said application on the
basis of the incompatibility of the service station
design with the surrounding properties
