RESOLUTION NO. 1437
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN GRANTING A USE PERMIT ON APPLICATION NO.
U.P. 75-11, OF CAROL HAMMOND
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does here
resolve as follows:
1.
The Planning Commission finds and determines as
follows:
a)
That a proper application No. U.P. 75-11 was
filed on behalf of Carol Hammond for a Use Permit
to allow the display of two hydroponic greenhouses
to be located within a fenced backyard for the
property located at 700 West First Street.
b)
That a public hearing was duly called, noticed
and held on said application.
c)
That establishment, maintenance and operation of
the use applied for will nOt, under the circum-~
stances of this case, be detrimental to the
health, safety,-morals, comfort or general
welfare of the persons residing or working in
the neighborhood of such proposed use,
evidenced by the following findings:

Said hydroponic greenhouses will be screen.
from public view by the erection of fences
6' 8" in height? to include the west property,.
line.
The greenhouses will be located a minimum-
of 10 feet from the west proPerty line.
(3)
That additional landscaping and site
improvements will accompany the location
of said use.
d)
e)
That the establishment, maintenance and operation
of the use applied for will not be injurious or
detrimental to the property and improvements in
the neighborhood of the subject property, nor to
the general welfare of the City of Tustin, and
should be granted.
Proposed development shall be in accordance with
the Zoning Ordinance and the development policies
adopted by the City Council, Uniform Building
Codes as administered by the Building Official,
Fire Code as administered by the Fire Chief,
and street improvement requirements as
administered by the City Engineer.
f)
That a request for exemption from the
Environmental Impact Report procedures has been
filed and approved.

The Planning Commission hereby grants a Use Permit,
as applied for, to allow the display of two hydro-
ponic greenhouses to be located within a fenced
backyard of the property located at 700 West First
Street, subject to the following conditions:
a)
That on-site improvements, to include a new
parking lot, shall be constructed in accordance
with an approved plot plan.
b) Greenhouses shall be located a minimum of
10 feet from the west propertY line.
c)
That a landscaping, irrigation, and sign plan
shall be submitted for staff review and
approval.
d) That prospective purchasers of hydroponic units
shall be informed that approval by the Building
Official and the obtaining of necessary building
permits are needed prior to the location and/or
construction of any such units in the City of
Tustin.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission, held on the 28th day of April, 1975.
