RESOLUTION NO. 1416
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN GRANTING A USE PERMIT ON APPLI-
CATION NO. U.P. 74-14, OF RYDER TRUCK RENTAL,
INC.
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does
hereby resolve as follows:
The Planning Commission finds and determines as
follows:
a)
That a proper application (No. U.P. 74-14)
was filed on behalf of Ryder Truck Rental,
Inc , for a Use Permit to allow the location
and operation of a truck rental and leasing
facility for not more than 20 trucks, and
the utilization of a ~round-ba~ed ._ ~ ~'
· onument ~ sign for the property located
at 730 South E1 Camino Real, Tustin.
b)
That .a public hearing was duly called, noticed
and held on said application;
c)
That establishment, maintenance and operation
of the use applied for will not, under the
circumstances of this case, be detrimental
to the health, safety, morals, comfort or
general welfare of the persons residing or
working in the neighborhood of such proposed
use, evidenced by the following findings:
1) That subject use will be compatible with
the adjacent land use and zoning.
2)
That improvements will be made to the
site that will enhance the property and
will adequately screen the storage area
by encompassing it with a 6'8~' decorative
masonry block wall upon ultimate development.
d)
That the establishment, maintenance and
operation of the use applied for will not
be injurious or detrimental to the property
and improvements in the neighborhood of the
subject property, nor to the general welfare
of the City of Tustin, and should be granted.
e)
Proposed development shall be in accordance
with the development policies adopted by
the City Council, Uniform Building Codes
as administered by the Building Official,
Fire Code as administered by the Fire Chief,
and street improvement requirements as
administered by the City Engineer.
f)
That a request for Exemption from the
Envlrohmental ImPact Report requirements
has been filed and approved.
2. The Planning Commission hereby grants a Use Permit

as'applied for, to allow for the location and
operation of a truck rental and leasing facility
for not more than 20 trucks, and the utilization
of a ground-based monument sign subject to the
following conditions:
a) That final development plans be submitted tc
the staff for review and approval to include.~
landscape and building materials, colors,
lighting facilities, irrigation, parking lot
striping, signing, and reconditioning of
existing structure.
b) That the use of the property shall be limited
exclusively to that as requested and authorized
by this permit, and that any other use shall
require the specific approval of the Planning
Commission pursuant to the procedures for an
amendment to a Use Permit.
c) That the existing gas pumps shall be 'used to
fuel the rental vehicles stored on the subject
property and shall not be for general
commercial use.
d) That the development of the subject property
shall be done in conformance with all
applicable codes and standards, to include the
City of Tustin Development Standards (Re-
solution 73-23), the Zoning Ordinance (Ord. 157)
the Sign Ordinance (Ord. 614), and the E1
Camino Real Specific Plan (Ord. 510).
e) That a performance bond shall be made in the
amount of $1,530.00 for the following items
which shall be installed at the expiration of
Ryder Systems' initial two-year lease, or
within two years from the adoption~of this
resolution, whichever comes first, for:
1) One hundred and fifty-five (155) feet of
the required decorative masonry block wall
along the southerly property line adjacent
to the Santa Ana Freeway. Bonding for said
wall will be subject to approval by the
State Division of Highways of the interim
installation by the applicant of redwood ·
or grapestake slates on the existing ~"
chainlink fence.
2) Wood siding and fascia on the exterior
elevations of the existing structures,
with the immediate reconditioning and
painting of said structures~upon occupancy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning
