RESOLUTION NO. 1401
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN GRANTING A USE PERMIT ON APPLICATION NO.
U.P. 74-6, OF THE SADDLEBACK MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT
COMPANY

COMPANY.
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does
hereby resolve as follows:
1. The Planning Commission finds and determines as
follows:
a) That a proper application (No. U.P. 74-6) was
filed on behalf of %h~ Saddleback Medical
Development Company for a Use Permit to allow
for the expansion of the Tustin Community Hospit~
by the addition of 6925 square feet to an
existing structure to house classrooms, Physio-
logical Lab, recovery room and other hospital
facilities on the property at 14662 Newport Ave.
b) That a public hearing was duly called, noticed
held on said application;
c) That es tab li shment ~ ~maintenance ~and ~ 6perati~ndOf~
~he 'use apPlied~'for .will-not, under -the circum-
stances of this case, be detrimental to the heal
safety, morals, comfort or general welfare of
persons residing or working in the neighborhood
such proposed use, evidenced by the following
findings: .
1) That addition'al parking facilities will be
provided on an adjacent parcel to accomoda~e
the increased use. ·
2) That said use is in conformance with the Tus'
Area General Plan as adopted by the City of
Tustin. ~
d) That the establishment, maintenance and operatio~
of the use applied for will not be injurious or
detrimental to the property and improvements in
the neighborhood of the subject property, nor
the general welfare of the City of Tustin, and
should be granted.
Proposed development shall be in accordance with
the development policies adopted by the City
Uniform Building Codes as administered by the
Building Official, Fire Code as administered by
the Fire Chief, and street improvement requireme
as administered by the City Engineer.
f) A Negative Environmental Declaration has been
filed for the project.

2. The Planning Commission hereby grants a Use Permit,
as applied for, to allow for the expansion of the Tustin Com-
munity Hospital by the addition of 6925 square feet to a~
existing structure to house classrooms, physiological lab,
recovery room and other hosDital facilities, subject to the
following conditions:
a. That additional adequate pa~king facilities be
provided to the satisfaction of Staff.
b. That the Tustin Community Hospital be
annexed to the Tustin Lighting District prior
to any expansion.
c. That street liqhts be provided on Newport Avenue-
and Svcamore Avenue to the satisfaction O~. the
C~ity ~ngineer. "
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning
Commission, held on the 26th day of August, 1974.
