ORDINANCE NO. 289
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, FIXING AND DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF
REVENUE NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON
THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF TUSTIN
AND THE AMOUNT OF REVENUE NECESSARY TO CARRY ON
THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE SAID CITY FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 1965-66.
The City Council of the City of Tustin does ordain
a:s ~'Ollows
Section l: That it is hereby determined and declared
by the City Council of the City of Tustin that the sum of
$639,610.00 is the amount of revenue necessary to be raised in
order to carry on the various departments of the City of Tustin
for the fiscal year 1965-66.
Section 2= That of ~aid sum of $639,610.00 it is
anticipated that there will be received, as income from various
sources other than through property tax levy, the sum of
$449,610.00 and that it will be necessary to raise the sum of
$190,000.00 by tax levy upon the property within the City of
Tustin.
Section 3.: The sum of $59,000.00 out of the amount
budgeted to the Police Department Will be taken from the MOtor
Vehicle License Fund for police salaries.
Section 4: Of the monies budgeted for traffic control
and for the salaries of the City Engineer and the Street Super-
intendent, and of the monies expended for the repair, maintenance
and construction of Major City Streets, $45,000.00 shalt' be
taken from the Traffic Safety Fund.
Section ~::~ The budget of the Street Construction and
Maintenance Department, for construction of major highways
approved by the State of California, shall be paid for from
G budgeted at $86,410.00.
Special as Tax Funds
Section 6~~ That the City Council hereby finds and
determines that the enactment of this Ordinance as an emergency,
urgency measure is required for the preservation of public health,
and welfare, and this Ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on the 2nd day of August, 1965.

Council of the City of Tustin is five; that the above and
foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced and
read at a meeting of the City Council, held on the 2nd
day of August, 1965, and given its second reading, and pa
passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 2nd day of August, 1965, by the following
vote:
