ORDINANCE N0. 280
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
AMENDING THE TUSTIN CITY CODE RELATING
TO THE SALE OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY,
The City Council of the City of Tustin does ordain
as follows:
1)' That Section 2-.6.1 of the Tustin City Code be
amended to read as followa:
Section 2-6.1 Disposition of Unclaimed Prooerty in
the Possession of the Police Department.
Whenever any unclaimed property shall be held in
the possession of the Police Department for over
six months, or in the case of bicycles, when trey
have been held in the possession of the Police
Department for a period of at least three months,
the Police Department may thereafter sell such
property at public auction to the highest bid~der.
Notice of the time and place of the said sale
shall be given by the Chief of Police at least
five (5) days prior to the time fixed therefor,
by publication once in a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City.
2) The City Council finds and determines that it
is necessary for the preservation of public welfare and
safety that this Ordinance be adopted as an emergency
Ordinance, to be effective immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council, held on the 5th day of April, 1965.
