RESOLUTION NO. 1304
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF
SPECIFIC PLAN OF BICYCLE TRAILS AND WAYS.
The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does hereby.
resolve as follows:
1. The Pl~nnin.g Commission finds and determines:

That a Specific Plan of Bike Trails and Ways for
the City of Tustin, as described by Exhibit I
attached hereto, incorporated herein by this
reference that set forth herein in full was prop-
erly initiated by the Planning Commission.

That a public hearing was duly called and noticed
and held on said application on September 25, 1972,
October 24, 1972, and November 27, 1972;

The Bicycle Recreation'Safety Act of 1971, adopted
by the California Legislature, requires cities and
counties to consider the establishment and desig-
nation of bicycle paths and routes in the General
Plan. This act provides that special consideration
shall .be given to the inclusion of bicycle paths
or routes in any area in which there are planned
or existing schools.

Bicycle Plans have been adopted by the County of
Orange for the unincorporated area in Tustin's
Sphere of Influence and by adjoining cities of
Santa Ana and Orange, which have a relationship to
Bicycle routes within the City of Tustin.
e)
The proposed plan of Bike Trails and Ways in the
City of Tustin is compatible with those of surround-
ing cities and County and provides for a compre-
hensive link of transportation and recreational
network applicable to the total needs of the Community

That proposed Bicycle Trails and Ways is in con-
formance with the Open Space-Recreation-Conservation
Element of the Tustin Area General Plan~
g)
The proposed plan establishes a framework and guide-
lines for the development of a bicycle system of
trails and ways at such time as economically feasible
and desirable for the City Council to. implement.
~. 2. The Planning Commission hereby recommends to the City
Council the adoption of the Specific Plan of Bicycles, Trails and
Ways, to be implemented by Council directiOn at such time and to
s. uch degree as may be economically feasible and desirabl~.
