A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A
VARIANCE ON APPLICATION NO. V. 70-272 OF
FEDERAL SIGN & SIGNAL CORPORATION ON BEHALF

The Planning Co~ission of the City of Tustin, Caldor
does hereby resolve as follows'-
1. The Planning Commission finds and determines:
.a) That a public hearing has been duly advertised
held on V-70-272 modifying the authority to per-
mit more than the permitted number of free-stand-!
Lng signs; maximum permitted height of a free-
· standing sign; and, minimum ground clearance of a i
free-standing sign for property located approxi-
mately 193 feet on the south side of Irvine
Boulevard, approximately 165 feet west of cen%er-I
line of Fashion Land, and;
b) That relocation of the 23' high existing free-
standing sign from its present location at %?.e
northeast corner of the property to a new location
in 'the front landscaped area at the northwest
corner of the main structure, would not prove de-i.
trimental to the surrounding area and;

C) That because of special circumstances applica~
to the subject property, the strict applicatio
of the Ordinance is found to deprive suZoject p.
perty of privileges enjoyed by other properties in
the vicinity and under similar circumstances and
the granting of subject request would no~ con-
stitute a 9'rant of special privileges inconsistent
:
with the limitations upon other properties in
vicinity and district in which the' sub3ect proper~tY
is located.
2. The Planning Commission hereby grants a Variance, as

applied for, subject to the following conditions: ,
a) Removal of all other free-standing signs from thei
site, with the exception of the existing marquee
type =;!.. · located at the front of ~he main
structure.
b) That approval for this relocation in the public
safety area be obtained from the City Engineer.

c) That ~inal sign plans and location be subJecU ~o
the approval of the Developmen~ Previcw CoD. mis.~
prior to the issuance of a sign p~rmlt.

records of Los Angeles County, California and a portion of the Rancho Santiago de
Santa Ana,. described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of parcel record-
ed October 6, 1917 in Book 309, Pages 43 of Deeds, said corner being in the Souther-
ly line of said Parcel "B" Brown; thence South 89° 14' 40" West, along said South-
erly line of its Westerly prolongation 249.70 feet to the true point of beginning;
thence South 89° 14" 40" West, continuing along said Southerly line and its Westerly
prolongation 416.01 feet' to an ihtersection with the Easterly line of Deed recorded
March 28, 1881 in Book 78, Page 355 in the Office of the County Recorder of Los .
