ORDINANCE NO. 226
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED AS "WEST MAIN
STREET ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN:
WHEREAS, on April 25, 1963, the Council of the City of
Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. 654, declaring that proceed-
ings had been initiated by the City Council of the City of Tustin,
~ribed thefin and designated as "WEST MAIN STREET ANNEXATION~ and
giving notice of the proposed annexation, and said Resolution des-
cribed t~iboundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and~l~
~iWHEREAS, said Resolution did contain a notice of the da~'
hour an~4ce when and where the Council of the City of Tustin
would h~!~protests made by any person owning raal property
the territory roposed to annexed,of said hearing
not les~'~t~an forty (40) nor more than sixty (60) days from the
of pass~ga~'of said Resolution; and
!~:~REAS The Boundary Commission of the County of Orange,~i
State did in session duly assembled, approve the p~?~
posed a~nexation boundaries of said annexation; and
WHEREAS, on June 17, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M.,
the Council .~m~Sl;r~t~]~/~, ~,~.~i~~..~,
of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution for hearing
protests to the said annexation, the City Council did hear and pass
upon all protests made to the proposed annexation, and did determine
that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value
of the privately owned territory proposed to b~ annexed, as shown on
the last equalized assessment roll, or by public owners of one-half of
the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed, as
determined by said legislative body, and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Tustin, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Orange;
NOW, THEEFOE, the City Council of the City of Tastin
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter
described to the City of Tastin, and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be, and the same hereby is annexed to the
City of Tustin.

That said territory, ~he annexation of which to the
City of TUstin has herein been approved, is all that territory
situated in the County of Orange, State of Califonni~, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an angle .point in the existing boundary of the
South T~stin Avenue Annexation to the City of Tustin as per Ordinance
No. 136, passed and adopted by the Tustin City Council on July 3,
1960, said angle point being on the North Line of Main Street (80'wide)
being dista~nt thereon S' 89o30'25" W., 243.00 feet from the surveyed
centerline of Tustin Avenue;
Thence, following along said South Tustin Avenue Annexation
boundary line, S 0°41'01'' W., a distance of 928.93 feet to an angle
point in the existing boundary of the John Jacob's Annexation to the
City of Tustin as per Ordinance No. 181, passed and adopted by the
Tustin City Couneil on Eugust 6, 1962;
Thence, following along said John Jacob' s Annexation boundary
line, the following courses and distances:
N 49o°10'02" W., a distance of 84.52 feet to a~ ~angle point;
17.10 ~feet to an angle point;
N 39~18'49" W., a distance of 4
N 89 44'04" W., a distance of 273.48 feet to an angle point;
S 0°41'01" W., a distance of 296-79 feet to the N.E. corner
of the Williams Street Annexation to !!the City of Tustin as per
Ordinance Now 207 passed and adopted by the Tustin City Council on
March ll, 1963;
Thence, following along the boundary line of said Williams
Street Annexation, N. 89o45'37'' W., a distance of 1,027.83 feet, more
or less, to an angle point, said angle point being on the East line
of Williams Street (66 feet wide);
T Thence, continuing along said Williams Street Annexation
boundary, S 0 31'31" w., a distance of 45 feet, more or less to the
East prolongation of the South line of that certain parcel of land
conveyed to George E. Meurs as per deed recerd~d in Book 1421, page
227, Official Records of Orange County, California;
Thence, leaving said Willlares Street Annexation boundary,
and running along sai~ East prolongation and along said South line,
S ~8°33'15" w., a distance of 863.76 feet to the Southwest corner of
said Meurs property, said corner being a point on the East l~ne of
that certain parcel of land conveyed to Esta E. Leihy as per deed
recorded in Book 1499, page 388, Official Records of Orange County,
California;
Thence, S 0o33'00'' E., along said East line of said Leihy
property, a distance of 100 feet more or less, to the Southeast
corner of said Leihy propery;
Thence, S 88°33'15" W., along ~the Sou~h 1Lne of said Leihy
property, a distmnce of 393.57 feet, to the Southwest corner of said
Leihy property;

Thence , N 0 33'00 "W., along the West line ~f said Leihy
property, a distance of 247.08 feet to an angle point in the
existing City boundary of the City of Santa Ana as per Ordinance
No. NS-583;
Thence, following along said !City of Santa Ana boundary
N. 0o06'00" w., a distance of 942.54 feet, to the North line of
MaLn Street (80 feet wide), said North line also being on the
South line of Prentice Prk Territory Annexation to the City of
Santa Ana as per Ordinance No. 1269;

Terri~ox-y AnneX~Ition, N. 89 05'30" E., a '~istance of 276.69 feet, to
the Southeast corner of said Prentice Park Territory' Annexation,
said corner also being the Southwest corner of the "East of Prentice
Park Annex" to the City of San~ta Ana as per Ordinance No. NS-297;
Thence, followingoalong tha South line of said"East of
Prentice Park Annex," N. 89 05'30ti El, a distance of 329 feet, to the
Southeast corner of saic "East of Prentice Park Annes";
Thence, leaving the City boundary of Santa Ana and continuing
N. 89o05'30" E., along the North line of said Main Street, a distance
of 349.4 feet, to the West line of Lot "C" of the Stafford and Tusth ~-~
Tract as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 2, Pages 618 and 619
of Miscellaneous Re~ords of Los .Angeles ~County, California;
Thence, N. 0o29'35'' W., along said West line,oa distmce of
490 feet more or less, to the Northeast right of way .line of the Santa
Ana Freeway, said line being on a curve concave :Northeasterly and havin~
a radial bearing of N. 41°07"36'' E., at said point of intersection;
Thence, Southeasterly following along said curve through
a central angle of 12°46'00", an~iarc distance of 427.82 feet, oto the
end of said curve, said point having a redial bearing on N. 28 20'36" E.
Thence, continuing along the Northeast line of said Santa Ana
Freeway, S 68°41'16" E., a distance of 591.54 feet to an angle point;
Thence, S. 86°36'15'' E., a distnace of 412.2~ feet to the
North line of said MaLn Street (80 £eet wide);
Thence, N. 89030 '24" E., along said Norkh line of said Main
Street, a distance of 457 feet to the point of beginning~
It is further found and determined that the public linterest
and necissity require the adoption ~and passage o£ t~'~s Ordinance as an
emergency and urgent measur, da~ to ~the need of the City for additional
tax revenue, and said Ordinance is hereby adopted on this date.
PASSED AND ADOPTED AT A REGULAR MEE~EG of the City Council
of the City of Tustin, California, held on the 17th day of June, 1963.
