AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, REQUIRING PERMITS AND
PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR
THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGE-
MENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING,
REMOVAL, CONVERSION, DEMOLITION, 0CC-
UPANCY, EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT AND
AREA OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND
TENTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VI0-
LATION THEREOF, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE. 1961 ED-
ITION, AND SUPPLEMENTARY AMENDMENTS
TO THE 1961 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE OF
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIF-
ORNIA, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 143
The City Council of the City of Tustln does
hereby ordain as follows:

City Council of the City of Tustin, California., for
the purpose of pr~escrib'i~!~]':regulations for the erec-
tion. construction, enlargement, 'alteration, repair,
moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy,
equipment, use height and area of buildings, str~Ict-
ures and tents, that certain Code, known as "THE UNI-
FOP~I BUILDING CODE, i961 EDITION", and "SUPPLEI. fENTARY
AMENDMENTS TO THE 1961 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE" OF THE
County of Orange, State of California, and the whole
thereof, of which not less than three copies have been
and now are filed in the office of the City Clerk of
The City of Tustin, California, and same is hereby ad-
opted and incorporated herein as fully as if set for-
th at length herein, save and except for such portions
as are hereinafter amended.
Section 2: Chapter 5, Table 5A, Note (1)
i is amended to read:
(1) All distances given are in feet from
the property line to the w/all. (See Section
~0LF and Part V).
Exce~ti_on: In residential condominiums,
where individual property lines are co-
incident with walls of each residential unit,
and each unit borders on a jointly owned area:
(a) each structure ~nsisting of three or
more living units shall be considered an
\
apartment for purposes of this Code;
(b) the distance required from "property
line" shall not apply to any property line
coincident with an interior wall, and for
exterior wall, shall apply to the property
line 'of the entire condominium. Between
separated units within the same condo-
miniurn, Section 504 (c) shall apply. For
any use other than residential in any unit,
Table 5B shall apply

SeCtion 4: The City Council finds and deter-
mines that the public interest and necessity require
the adoption and passage of this Ordinance as an emerg-
ency and urgent measure, and it therefore is adopted on
this date.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a s~ecial meeting of the
City Council of the ~ity of Tustin, California, held on
the 11th day of March, 1963.
