WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California
to contract for construction of the Tustin Legacy Fire Station — Relocation of Station
#37 project (CIP No. 10048); and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the
construction of said work; and
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2001, the City of Tustin certified the Program Final
Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (FEIS/EIR) for the reuse
and disposal of MCAS Tustin. On April 3, 2006, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 06-43 approving an Addendum to the FEIS/EIR. The proposed project is consistent
with MCAS Tustin Specific Plan and is determined not to result in any new significant
environmental impacts, propose substantial changes or a substantial increase in the
severity of any previously identified significant impacts in the FEIS/EIR and Addendum.
Moreover, no new information of substantial importance has surfaced since certification
of the FEIS/EIR and Addendum; and
WHEREAS, on October 4, 2011, the City of Tustin pre-qualified five general
contractors as eligible to bid this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications
presented by the City Engineer are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for
the construction of:
Tustin Legacy Fire Station — Relocation of Station #37 (CIP No. 10048)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals from
the five pre-qualified general contractors for the performance of the work specified in the
aforesaid plans and specifications.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Cc.aricil of the City of
Tustin held on the 17 th day of July 2012.
