HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 563 RESOLUTION No. 563 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING RE- ZONING OF LARWIN SQUARE TUSTIN. The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, California, does :resolve as follows: Section l: The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, California, finds and determines that a proper applica- tion for rezoning was filed by LARWIN SQUARE=TUSTIN, for a change of zone for the property at First and Newport Streets, Tustin, California, from the C-1 Zone to the C-2 Zone. 'Section 2: The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, California, duly called and noticed a public hearing on the proposed zone change on the 28th day of May, 1962, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, Tustin, California, all in accordance with Ordinance No. 157 of the City of Tustin. Said hearing was duly held, and at..said hearing the following persons spoke: Eugene Rose, 8670 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills, California At said hearing evidence was introduced that the property was classi- fied in the C-2 Zone prior to the adoption of Ordinance No. 157, and that at the time of the adoption of Ordinance No. 157 it was rezoned to C-l; that the property would more properly be classified as C-2. The Planning Commission concluded that the best interests of the City of Tustin and the surrounding property would be served by rezoning said property to C-2, and that this would be in substantial conformity with the Master Plan of the City of Tustin. Section 3: Said Planning Commission recommends to the City Council of the City of Tustin that the property at First and Newport Streets, in the City of Tustin, more particularly described as: That portion of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, in the City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California, beginning at the northwest corner of Block 29 of the Town of Tustin, according to the 146, Map thereof recorded in Book 4, Pages 218 and 219 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence easterly along the southerly line of First Street, 66 feet wide, North 89°49'40~ east 735.58 feet, and North ~89°54'20" East 463.28 feet, to the northeast corner of Yorba Subdivision, in the City of Tustin, as shown on a Map thereof recorded in Book 5, Page ll, Mis- cellaneous Maps, records of said Orange County; thence south 39°56'00" west 1,189.42 feet, along the northwesterly line of Newport Avenue, to the center line intersection of Third Street, abandoned 66 feet wide; thence south 89o49'40'' west 435.,37 feet, along said center.line, to the easterly lineof "H" Street, 66 feet wide; thence north 910.37 feet,, more or less, along said easterly line of "H" Street, 66 feet wide, to said point of beginning be rezoned from C-1 to C-2. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Com~ission of the City of Tustin, California, held on the 28th day of May, 1962.
