HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 32521 RESOLUTION NO. 3252 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY 3 OF TUSTI.N, DELETING CONDITION NUMBER 3.6 OF RESOLUTION NO. 2664 TO AUTHORIZE THE INSTALLATION 4 OF LOCKABLE PEDESTRIAN GATES AT PRIVATE STREET ENTRIES ON TOWNSHIP DRIVE, RAWLINGS WAY AND LA 5 COLINA. 6 The Planning Commission of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: 7 I. The Planning Commission finds and determines as follows: 8 A. Design Review 88-67 was approved by the Tustin 9 Planning Commission on August 28, 1989, by adoption of Resolution 2664. 10 B. At that time, the City policy was to prohibit 11 locking pedestrian gates in developments with gated vehicular access. 12 C. In 1992, the City changed it's policy to permit 13 locking pedestrian gates in developments that have gated vehicular access. 14 _ D. The applicant (Irvine Community Builders) is 15 proposing to install locking pedestrian access gates at Township Drive, Rawlings Way and the 16 emergency access to La Colina Drive, just west of Tustin Ranch Road. 17 E. Condition Number 3.6 of Exhibit A of Planning 18 Commission Resolution 2664 prohibited gates or other restrictions across pedestrian access as part 19 of their approval of Design Review 88-67. 20 II. The Planning Commissioner hereby deletes Condition 3.6 of Exhibit A of Planning Commission Resolution 2664 as a 21 requirement for Design Review 88-67, subject to the following conditions. 22 A. Plans for the gate installation shall be subject to 23 Building Department for plan check and permits. 24 B. Perforated metal screen shall be added to the Township Drive and Rawlings Way gates. 25 C. Rawlings Way gate shall be self-closing and self- 26 latching. 27 D. Overall gate height shall not exceed 7'-6" consistent with the provisions of the East Tustin Specific Plan.
